Em and I will have 88 hours to complete the race. We'll start in Kansas City and end in St. Charles, just 25 mi west of St. Louis. There will be 9 mandatory checkpoints along the way (Kaw Point, Lexington, Waverly, Miami, Glasgow, Katfish Katy's, Jeff city, Hermann, Klondike, and St. Charles). Let us know if you live close to any of these cities. We'd love to meet you and see you cheering on all of the paddlers!

I'm so excited to be a part of this amazing race! How many people can say they have participated in one of the Top 40 Adventures from National Geographic! You and Em are going to kill it! As part of your ground crew, I'll help you train in any way I can. I can start meeting you at random corners of your office to offer you a power bar and an energy drink. Or I can turn the fart box into a kayak on wheels and we can paddle across the metroplex. I can't wait for this race! I'm so proud of you, Little!!! You are the bravest and most strongest woman I know!
I can't believe I am going to be a part of this adventure also. I am so proud of all four of you and am honored to be a part of the ground crew. I will be sure to bring along plenty of banana bread, energy drinks, snacks, Boulevard Wheat, duct tape, disinfectant to clean out the kayak,a journal to write down our "precious" moments, a camera, and maps, lots of maps. Oh yes, a red heart on my shirt, as I love all of you so much for including me in this, soon to be, TOP ADVENTURE of our lives. No, SECOND TO TOP ADVENTURE,as this new baby will be the TOP! Papa

My awesome husband is from good ol' St. Charles. It's a great city with an adorable downtown.
