{Maui Update: Day 1}

The average lifespan is 25,550 days. Today we ...

Got up at 3am to watch the sunrise on Haleakala.

Saw trees that looked like worms.

Watched photographers be one with the clouds.

Played with our shadows.

Visited the Haleakala Crater.

Fell in love with Jacaranda Trees.

Biked 27 miles to Paia while wearing our Woobie capes.

Watched paddle surfers from our balcony.

And played at the beach. A good day well spent ...

Tonight we're going to watch a movie and head to bed early. Twinner said she'd make me homemade vegan banana milk & granola for breakfast in the morning. Have I mentioned that vacationing with Sarah Eloise Latoya Rainbow Richmond is the shiz?

Hope you and your loved ones have a wonderful holiday weekend!

Isn't watching that sunrise breathtaking? I had such a magical time in Maui... much more than I had ever imagined and I really tested my courage with so many new activities. Can't wait to go back. Have fun!

I love you too, misses (Mrs.)!!! Wow!!! Great pictures! I felt like I was there! I especially loved the woobie cape. You looked like speed racer with your cape and helmet. Emo, you did so well on the photos. I never knew that I married Ansel Adams great grandaughter! I hope you and bobo are enjoying the heck out of life! As the locals say, SURFS UP!!!

sisters of the traveling woobingtons,
you are beautiful and lovely. you are inspiring and true! i agree with timo that my fav foto was the woobington cape on wheels. after capturing photographers become one with the clouds, national geo is sure to swoop you two up for their twinner photojournalism award. i hope they give you a part time job and that they fund more exotic trips so that we can keep viewing such great beauty from our home lappies. miss you two with fierceness. ferocity? xoxo, mhw

So glad you made it to sunrise at the crater - we couldn't manage to drag ourselves out of bed that early. Beautiful, magical place, isn't it? and Paia is a darling town. Hope you can get some beach time in today ~

So, do you know "Mahalo" yet? By the way, looks like you two made a pretty darn good use of one of those 25,550 days!

scatterbox, thank you for reminding twinner and i to be brave. i keep encouraging her to go to the nude beach but she said she'd rather ride her hot pink bici with streamers.

husband, i never knew i married paul newman's grandson. you're kindof hot. not gonna lie. ps, miss your shaving cream kisses more than you know.

cara, one day you will bring the cub here and build sand castles on the beach. you will also teach her about the difference between skipping stones and crabs that are really just napping in the sun.

ada, absolutely! a great reminder for the mr. and i as well.

mhw, you commented on the blog! welcome welcome welcome. love you, friend.

tanya, like a dream, indeed!

nance, we loved paia - and lahaina is lovely too. today we're getting LOTS of beach time. xo

neighbor, hoping to make our next 4 days just as lovely. so grateful to spend them in maui.
