Today's Letters: Dear Mr. Loerke, sometimes you like to cover things with outdoor stickers. Like your lunch box and your laptop. I think this is awesome. Dear Ollie at Chase Bank, ever since they transferred you to another branch, depositing checks just hasn't been the same. You were the nicest bank teller I've ever met. Dear Twinner, this time tomorrow I'll be tackling your little vegan self in the Kahului airport. I bet I squeeze you so hard you yell "Aloooooooooha!!!" Can't wait. Dear Husband, because we'll be apart for 8 days I've decided to leave you my favorite sleeping shirt under your pillow. May you dream of Harley's, lightening bolts, and screaming eagles. Miss you already.

Mahalo. Hope you and the Twinner have a great time - so much so that there's not enough leg kicks or fist pumps to convey its total awesomeness. And then I hope your reunion with the mister is even better. You know what they say about absence . . . .

Dear Loerkes,
Just spent the past hours reading your entire site, back to the very last post. So inspired and challenged, thank you E for being faithful to share your daily letters!! I start medical school in the fall; seeing you two make your way through Mr. Loerke's PA school and simultaneously create a solid marriage is a mind-blowingly huge encouragement.

Warm wishes,
Patti

neighbor, you are sweeter and nicer than mr. rogers. i'm glad you're just down the street.

tanya, promise to eat pineapple until we get cankies.

beck, ollie for president! i miss her so much. she was the cutiest bank teller EVER.

darbs, in honor of you and homosapien, twinner and i will swim in the ocean 2 times, eat 2 lbs of strawberries & mangos, perform 2 circus tricks along the beach every day, ride 2 sea turtles, read 2 books, take 2 naps in the hammock, and run 2 miles every day.

patti, congrats on med school! no easy feat there. people will tell you it's impossible to have a great marriage or meaningful friendships while in PA and med school. we couldn't disagree more. it takes hard work - every day - but it is possible. keep us posted on your med school adventures! ps, DO or MD?

people will tell you it's impossible to have a great marriage, period. people like you guys (and US of course, ha!) will prove the world wrong. my parents are in the middle of a pretty ugly divorce after 35 years that had left me feeling sort of ... scared? maybe? i was sure that i was wrong, that the senile stalker and i could never pull this off, that i had been living in my own magical number 13 world and was about to be tossed off. and it's at times like that when i am gently nudged by *something* and "find" sites like yours, Mrs. Loerke.

thanks for the daily reminder that it's worth the chance... it always pays off and that it's NOT a dream. it can be mine if i'm committed! have fun in Hawaii. my tim-o lived there for 5 years. some day he'll take me there. we'll take the littles another time. draw some hearts in the sand and eat some dried mango with that powdery red stuff my guy likes so much. (can you tell i don't indulge with him!?)
