Today's Letters: Dear Mr. Loerke PA-S III, on Tuesday you got to assist in a pulmonary valve replacement. Then you came home, sat on the counter and told me all about the surgery while I cooked dinner. I loved this. Dear MR340, 4 weeks ago I had no idea what a wing blade paddle was. Now I can't stop dreaming about owning a pair of carbon Sydney's with a side of 70° feather on a 213-216 cm shaft. What have you done to my brain? Dear Ray LaMontagne & Brandi Carlile, when I noticed you didn't include Dallas on your summer tour I maybe might have crawled in the corner and rocked myself to sleep. Maybe ... Dear Husband, congratulations on finishing your pediatric cardiothoracic rotation! Next up: pediatric surgery at Cook's in Fort Worth. Survey says, YOU CAN DOOO IT.

Mr. Lyle Lovett always comes to Meijer Garden Amiptheater here in Grand Rapids... it's a dern good time.
This isn't exactly a concert, but we have tickets to The Lion King in May and I'm already super excited for it :)
I don't have any booked by my friend is playing a concert at our church at the end of March to raise funds for her trip abroad and that should be fab because she is an amazing singer - she has a lovely voice and she plays the flugelhorn (it's like a trumpet if you didn't know hehe)
I was so sad about ray and brandi, too!!!
Country concerts (and tailgates) at an outdoor arena here in Virginia. The line-up is announced today!
Hayes Carll in Galveston, TX at the Old Quarter Acoustic Cafe next Wednesday - can i just say "yes, please"???
I dont really do concerts. But I do like musicals! I am going to see Rock of Ages and Billy Elliot in Dallas in the next few months. Then in NYC I am seeing Lion King and Spiderman the Musical. So PSYCHED!
The Civil Wars in a couple of weeks and maybe Balmorhea!
The hubby and I bought tickets to take our nine-year-old to see U2 in July. They are one of our boy's favorites so we splurged and bought some killer seats. I love being able to do things like that as a family.
Yay for Mr. Loerke! My dream is to be a pediatric surgeon and I love seeing how close you are getting to your dream of being a PA! You are a inspiration! You can do it!!!!:)
Avett Brothers in Charlotte, NC April 9th. Can't wait!
U2 in July in StL. WOOT! the last time i went to one of their concerts, we were pregnant...same tour only with a 16 mos. old, should be a blast!!!
here is my post about it, if you have time to read it: http://smhasty.blogspot.com/2011/01/30-day-song-challenge-day-one.html
i hope coldplay releases a new album and then goes on tour. i've been dying to see them. i want to see matt wertz, mat kearney, and mumford and sons (hopefully).

My uncle is a senior VP at Cook's. I love hearing about your hubby's rotations. It's good to know that people really do that stuff and its not just from what I've seen on Grey's. ;)
:( I wish I was looking forward to a concert this year. I used to go to shows all the time before I got married. And then I moved to the land of country music and lack of culture and I think I've been to....um, one? concert in the last seven years. Poor me. :P
I cannot wait to see Brooke Fraser in April. She is my favorite!
Tim, you are awesome! Do you watch all those DR shows, like Grey's Anatomy and ER? Is that what it's really like in the OR sans the romance and drama?
Shannon
Well, it's not booked, but I've had my sights on attending a Snow Patrol Concert for...years. Someday...
Arcade Fire with Explosions in the Sky
AND
William Fitzsimmons!!!!!!!
mmmmmm
abbysaysILY88, I hope that dream comes true! If you want more variety in the surgical world, be a PA (email Em if you have any questions and she'll forward it to me).
Kristin, glad to hear your uncle is looking over Cooks! He has a big job.
yourstruly, I'm sure there are bits of reality in ER and Greys. There are probably romance and drama in the real world...I obviously stay far away from that :-) There was a show a few months back called Boston Med. It was a documentary of three different hospitals in Boston that highlighted some interns, surgeons, and nurses. It was pretty spot on. It's really hard for any show or movie to capture to true essence of the OR/ER/Hospital. It can be a dog-eat-dog world out there or it could melt your heart. I continue to learn it is all about who you are and how you respond that makes clinician...as opposed to allowing the insane environment dictate who you are. There are many strong personalities and entitled people but I don't have to be one of them. The TV shows magnifiy the drama but thankfully it's not an accurate representation of the every day experience.
bonnarooooooooooooo. why aren't y'all going?
I love the outdoor concerts my little ol' town has during the summer. Sometimes the music is great, sometimes not, but seeing everyone out and about enjoying the weather is awesome!
Ray and Brandi are coming to Red Rocks; If you need to get away, I have a spare bedroom for you and the mister!
I was bummed that Ray and Brandi didn't add Pittsburgh to their tour lineup either---but I'm hoping to catch a show in Cleveland or Cincinatti! :) What a great combo for a concert!!!!! Love them both :)
We are looking forward to a second year of Nightvision here in Colorado this summer! I have just recently started to read today's letters and am in love with the love you two share. My husband is now a reader too, and the kids are being prepped for the "fist pump Friday" photo shoot I'm planning. : D
Country Blast in DSM, IA- Roadtrip! Summerfest in Milwaukee-Roadtrip again, yay! Train at Ravinia near Chicago, so much fun sitting on the lawn relaxing w/ friends w/ our own shmorgasboard (sp?) of treats and wine! :)
