Husband's Letters: Dear Mrs. Loerke, last night you made me green macaroni & cheese in honor of St. Patrick's day. Most people would think green and cheese don't mix but I think it was the perfect union. Dear Little Old Man With the Dislocated Elbow, I'm so glad we were able to help you by installing an external fixator. You can tell all your friends you have a robotic arm if you start to get embarrassed. Dear Appalachian Trail, it was one year ago today that we wrapped up our 53 mile journey of amazingness. I hope it won't be long before we get to meet again! Dear Pretty, wanna go on a road trip to Austin today? Last one to Julio's is a rotten egg!

Love,
Husband

HAPPY FREAKIN WEEKEND, HOMIES! What's your favorite place to eat at in Austin?

Be sure and check back later for this week's Fist Pump Friday photos! You don't want to miss these!

I always make it to Chuy's when I'm in town, but I also love venturing out to Salt Lick.

Have you ever read "A Walk in the Woods" by Bill Bryson? It's all about his hike on the AT. Hysterical and interesting. One of my and my husband's favorite books. Awesome on audio for long road trips, too.

Hyde Park Bar and Grill but...

SXSW traffic is nuts so plan accordingly! If you venture down to South Congress you can catch multiple free venues. I saw Trampled by Turtles yesterday at Homeslice Pizza. They seem like a group that would be right up your alley! I believe Homeslice has more free live music from 1pm-7pm today as well. PLUS! If you go to South Congress, you can check out our famous food trailers! Mighty Cone and Hey Cupcake are must stops.

Pretty awesome street musicians hanging out down there as well - there was a full bluegrass band that sounded awesome just playing for passersby. Have fun!

Z Tejas...amazing food and amazing views of the Hill Country. Make sure and go to one in the Arboretum to get the view. They even have a jalapeno margarita!

Corazon! Just went there for the first time last weekend. The food is delicious, the atmosphere is really dimly lit and warm, and the wait staff is wonderful. Price isn't too bad either.

We love Romeo's and Casino El Camino! (And if you want tattoos while you're there, go see Chris Carlton at Sailor's Grave on 6th St.!!)

Gotta brag on my late mother...she and her boyfriend tried to thru -hike the AT from the start at GA and got all the way to NY. It was there that she discovered she had leukemia, and that was the only thing that kept her from finishing. They were both 60 at the time! :)

her boyfriend leaves april 1 to try to thru-hike it one more time. He's determined that she'll finish it. He's hiking with her ashes and will release her at Katahdin!

I love to go sit at Mozarts and sip on iced tea and enjoy the life happening around me. :)

Oh no. . . as I try to conjure up my favorite places to eat, I am realizing my memory of Austin is fading! :( Home Slice and Guero's on Congress... oh, Kirby Lane and Cisco's. Um, and also Shady Grove. Other than that, I can't remember!
