Husband's Letters: Dear Mrs. Loerke, thank you for introducing me to the amazing music of Nathaniel Ratliff, Josh Garrels, and Ray LaMontagne. Without them I'd be falling asleep while studying. Dear Fart Box (aka my ride), I think your days are coming to an end. Won't be long before I have to put you on life support. Dear Readers of Today's Letters, thank you for reminding Em and I the importance of pursuing one another. It is hard work, but completely worth it. Dear Little Emo, you left me specials beneath our giving tree. I miss you already!

Love,
Husband

Bienvenidos, Mr. Loerke! Looking forward to reading your letters this week. Your challenge: using the phrase 'boobie baskets' at least once, and not in the comments. You don't get off that light.

The tripod tree is tied with your chalkboard door for things-I'd-most-likely-try-to-confiscate-if-I-came-to-visit. Fortunately for you, neither would fit well in my coat or bag.

Dear Mr. Loerke, I would like to come over and look through all the nooks and crannies of your house...you have great taste in decor and finds! I will be sure to invite myself over next time I am in your fine city!

Timmy: Such a blessing to have a son like you loving my Emily. I am blessed to know how much you love each other. Your letters are just as wonderful as Em's and I anticipate the day that you, Em, Issy and Courtney are together here in KC, drinking some Boulevard Wheat while laughing, crying, and doing leg kicks! Gayle, I just watched the story of Danny and Annie. They are truly an inspiration! I am honored that you think of us but I reminded that a great marriage, like theirs, takes daily committment to love. It is simple really. However, the most difficult component of loving someone else is putting the other in front of you. I struggle with selfishness every day. When I choose to love Em, it's more like a victory against my struggle. Thanks again for sharing this short clip!

How much do I love the idea of the Giving Tree.

Also, it's so much fun hearing from The Mr. You two are precious.

Tim, What an amazing and humble mister you are. I'm blown over with your honesty regarding selfishness... it looks like Em has been a great example for you of putting others first. Not a lot of people would admit that, so I agree - she got herself a good guy. There's not many of y'all left in the world (though I snagged up my own Timbo 9 years ago, so I'm one of the lucky ones, too!). Putting your spouse before yourself is one of the most beautiful things you can do for your marriage, I believe. This union, while such a blessing, is difficult if you wish to do it "right", eh? but so so worth it! Keep loving! It will always win!
