Husband's Letters: Dear Mrs. Loerke, just the other day you held up one of our heirloom tomatoes and told me it tasted like the sun. I don’t even know what that means but I like it. Dear 239 Days Left of PA School, you have come so far from 1,020 days. Pretty soon you will be no more and I’m happy to say, I will not miss you. Dear Couples, I never knew how much fun tacos, babies, ping-pong, dance parties, and rap-offs were until last night. So blessed to have friends who refresh us with laughter. Dear Little, your new hair cut reminds me of a willow tree with all of its flowing layers. You are more beautiful than the foliage of the Fall.

Love,
Husband

HAPPY FREAKIN WEEKEND!

A question from the "Mr": What do you love most about Fall?
Ps, to the sweet reader in Springfield who sent me an email yesterday, somehow it disappeared into cyberspace before I had the opportunity to respond. Jazz hands for you if you can resend.

Going for walks, kicking and scrunching the leaves with my wellies or having leaf fights :D - although you have to be careful for poop :(

i love the holidays! (FALLidays?! ha!) especially since we've had children. halloween, thanksgiving, Christmas. pumpkin patches, the arboretum's fall events, my daughters' birthdays, our anniversary, our birthday (same day, same year, same hospital)...it's the most wonderful time of the year!

I'll miss the people and thankfully we have the alumni association. I won't miss all the formalities of tests, lectures, presentations, and especially the drive.

What I don't love is that Houston Texas decides to skip the fall season.

But I love me a spicy candle to make our abode smell like leaf jumping

Since I'm on a beautiful campus, I love seeing the colors on the trees change and jumping in huge piles of leaves.

...and hot apple cider.

...and ice cream.

Cloudy days with the wind blowing the white bass to the shore; the smell of pinion wood coming out of the chiminea while raking leaves, and the smell of clean sheets with the windows open and the rustle of leaves outside. The sound that a Boulevard Wheat makes when the cap pops off is also a seasonal favorite, ANY season. Love you Timmy, Pops

Wow! All of my favorite things about Fall in one place! The smells, the sights, the sense of a cool breeze, and best of all the tastes of all things fall! I really enjoy baking with nutmeg...probably one of Fall's greatest inventions! Did you all know that everything Fall...and I mean everything...makes me think of Em? It's true. Fall (2002) was the season I was more intentional in pursuing her. I was living in Tulsa and she was in Dallas...and I would drive down to see her...my first experience in her home was filled with Fall decorations and the best smelling Fall candles...mmmm...the best! Those first few months of our relationship during the Fall season has left a permanent brand upon my heart.

All of the best pies in one season: pecan, pumpkin & apple! I'm from Atlanta and the South is known for doing autumn in a foodie kind of way!

I love the cinnamon & nutmeg that goes into everything. Chili and soups for any meal :)

Being able to take walks or runs outside and not sweat profusely after your first steps. Not sticking to one's leather car seats.

The colors around the lake, weiner roasts, snuggle weather, the food!, the sweet home scents, birthday, anniversary, the holidays. So much, it tugs my heart every year. It's like the feeling of coming home - kind of melancholy, but peaceful, loving, wrap you up in a big hug.
