Today's Letters: Dear Mr. Loerke, sometimes you like to walk around the house shirtless after doing push ups and sit ups. I think this is AWESOME. Dear Cafe Brazil, thank you from the bottom of our pancakes for our FREE breakfast yesterday. We couldn't have been more grateful. Dear October Eve, can't wait to celebrate you tonight with costumes, apple cider, and Charlie Brown's Great Pumpkin Escape. Two fist pumps for being my favorite month. Dear Husband, you are the Fletcher of my Corny Dog, the tornado of my taters, and the ferris of my wheel. T-minus 7 days until we hear Big Tex say, "Howdy Folks."

Team Loerke wants to know what's your favorite thing to eat at the fair?

Cafe Brazil=Beyond Awesome. Esp. their chicken nachos at 2am after one of my boyfriend's shows in Deep Ellum.

I need to go to the fair this year. Haven't gone since I was a kiddo. I need motivation!

JT would say pineapple whip is his fav fair fare. Mine is probably funnel cake or a huge soft serve cone!

I have been reading your blog for a few months now and I must say I love getting to read it everyday! You always seem to make me smile!

As far as favorite fair food, definitely elephant ears!! I took my boyfriend (who is from California) to the Oregon fair (where I am originally from) and he had never experienced an elephant ear before. I guess they don't have them in California, and what a shame because they really are the best!!

If the Fair isn't a date night kind of thing and you all are getting a group together, let me know. I need to go so I can answer the question you've posed - it's been too long since I've been to be able to answer well.

We love the picture and appreciate the shout out! Have fun at the State Fair. We love anything fried and smothered in chocolate sauce. Or Ranch dressing.

sara, we could eat their migas and fruit pancrepes day or night. what band is your bf in?

lb, pineapple whip. can i buy a vowel? love me some funnel cake.

michelle, there are two places i will eat a hot dog. the fair and a ballpark. fletcher's corny dogs have captured my heart.

dede, thanks for reading the blog! i agree - anything on a stick is muy bueno.

meagan, pork chop on a stick? brilliant!

terri, fried oreos are a fave of ours as well.

megan, butter indeed, makes the world go round.

ashley & kcurbani, i tried my first elephant ear in eureka springs, arkansas. i bet it's been 20 years since i've had one. thanks for bringing back good memories.

smash, papa lifted it from a dock down at the ozarks. it is a legit street sign, prob from the 40's or 50's. love it! your AT comment(s) made me laugh. you can compliment our linkage / apt anytime :)

don, we go every year with the grubb's! i think this is our 6th(?) year ... you've gotta go! although, i don't think i'll try the fried beer this year. eek!

danelle, for real? one of our favorite chocolates has bacon in it. bacon makes everything better. just ask jim gaffigan.

jennifer, fried snickers are right up there with fried oreos. love em both.

michele, lily is adorable. she actually models for jcpenney. her cuteness = college ready.

cafe brazil, be still my heart. chocolate sauce and ranch dressing; two of the mr's favorites!

So I was MC'ing at church this last sunday, and I did 2 fist pumps from the inspiration your blog has given me. I said "we oughta bring the fist pump back", to which, everybody in church boo'ed and 'noooo!'d me.

The obviously don't understand the awesomeness of it.
