Husband's Letters: Dear Mrs. Loerke, never did I dream of being married to someone who likes to bake in her cowgirl boots and sexy lingerie (aka, your basketball shorts). Ow! ow! Dear Candycorn, you make me wanna dance across the hardwoods in my Smartwools. I think I'll start hiding you in my pockets at work. Dear Rangers, in the fine words of Ron Washington, "Let's drop the antlers on 'em. Let's drop the claw on 'em." Fist pumps for making it to your first ever World Series. Dear Little Emma, you leave me notes in my white coat, celebrate the end of my rotations with cupcakes, and eagerly listen to my surgery stories. Know that I couldn't make it through PA school without you.

Love,
Husband

HAPPY FREAKIN WEEKEND!

The Mr. asks: What Halloween candy would you hide in your pockets?

Haribo lol. Does that count? I don't celebrate Halloween so I don't really have an answer lol.

If I could have any candy in the world I would have Crystallized Maple Syrup from Stevers Candies in Rochester, NY. My colleague from our companies HQ sent us some and they are more-ish! YUM!

Forget the candy. Most people who know me wouldn't be surprised to see cupcakes stuffed in my pockets. Love me some cupcakes.

Any chocolate. Preferably mini Reeses or Hershey's Kisses (easy pocket candy). My question is...where are those boots from??

That's easy...

Candy Corn and Sour Patch (Kids that is).

P.s. I knew I wasn't the only one who worked in the kitchen in her boots n' shorts n' such. Fist pumps for wardrobe bonding!

I tucked some mini snickers into my bag on the way out the door this morning :)

PS love the color of your kitchen. we just painted our dining room in a similar grey.

It isn't really candy but I would hide the chocolate & powdered sugar covered Chex in my pockets (if it weren't so messy, of course!)

Going to schmancy dinner party tonight- made the sea salt caramel chocolate layer bars last night. How can They not be impressed when I tell them I made my own caramel? I used a candy thermometer for the first time in my 40 years on this earth? They have freaking sea salt on them? Thanks for sharing!

Happy weekend!

I learned today that Hershey's Kisses & Werther's were not primo Halloween treats. Oops. Now I have all of this candy that I can't give to the kiddos.

Shucks.

I suppose they'll be in our pockets.

Though Tootsie Rolls & DOTS have always been my favorite for secret sneaking.

candy corn, hands down.. However, re: this Awesome World Series.. I hope you don't think less of me, being that I reside from San Francisco, Ca. Therefore, my team is the SF Giants. I do think that having a world series with the Giants vs. the Rangers is fantastically awesome as "everyone" else though that it was going to be a world series with the yankees vs. the phillies!! so, two fist pumps for cooler teams taking over the ranks of competition in the world series.. thank you for your extreme awesomeness, tim and emily. you guys are radder than rad. Happy weekend, yo. :)

Michaela, I respect you for disclosing your allegiance to the Giants. I think it's cool that 2 underdogs are in the WS. Even though the Giants are up 2-0, it's still AWESOME!

Also, looking over the candies, I am amazed to see all the non-traditional items (at least from the perspective of an Oklahoman-boy)...hot tamales, werthers (I ate so much I became sick when I was 9), kisses, and crystallized maple syrup!
As a kid, I would put my Halloween treasure sack in the freezer to experience the love for the next month. The MVL (most valuable loot) had to be the 3-Musketeers! Great memories!

Wintergreen lozenges! People think they taste like Pepto Bismol, but if that's the case, then bring on the Pepto!!! I love 'em!

UWP shorts. Must be University of Wisconsin Parkside. I wonder where you got them because I haven't read about any connections to WI yet. I went to UWPlatteville and those shorts are not orange or blue.

Anony, i got them at a thrift store in Dallas! I'm not sure what UWP stands for. Something tells me you pay attention to details. I like you already.
