Husband's Letters: Dear Emo Cottontail, you make the most obscure dates seem like National Holidays. Thanks for introducing me to October Eve. Dear Patients with Diabetes, this week you taught me that compassion is respect without passing judgement. I have much to learn in this area. Dear Imaginary Kayak, I picture you hanging in our living room, using you for naps while studying, and paddling you through the MR340. Can't wait to sit in you one day. Dear Little Emo, recently I saw this video and wanted you to know that I wouldn't want to chase CHEESE down a hill with anyone else but you.

Love,
Husband

HAPPY FREAKIN WEEKEND!

The Mr. asks: What was your favorite Halloween costume OF ALL TIME?

Be sure and check back later today for a post about one of our new favorite things!

In high school, me and 4 other of my friends dressed up like a flip flop (just stay with me here). We made a HUGE flip flop out of cardboard and each one of us were the toes inside (we even painted our faces red like nail polish). It was EPIC.

HA HA HA! Me and my boys thank you from the bottom of our cottontails for this pic of Em. We laughed hysterically. You put the butter on our bread this am. xoxo

PS - favorite costume - my hubbers as Bob Ross. Loved it! Super sexy!

My family don't celebrate Halloween and so I think my best Halloween costume was my jeans and a hoodie hehe.

I was Janet Jackson, she was Justin Timberlake. Reenacting the superbowl debacle 47 times for everyone who asked never got old. Not once.

This is rivaled ONLY by my Franzia Box o' wine costume from last year...dispensing fun and cheap box wine AT THE SAME TIME.

This year I plan on renting some scrubs, a stethoscope and dressing up as the husband of the world's most favorite blogger...

Bam!

Mr. Tim, I wish you all the best with your definition of compassion. My dad died five years ago with a laundry list of diabetic complications. I understand the thoughts on both sides of that coin.

As for my favorite Halloween costume of all-time? Easy. 11 years old, maybe...? A beautifully self-hand-lettered box of Johnson & Johnson dental floss. I can't wait to go home again and unearth that photograph. Still proud to this day. :)

my favorite halloween costume was when i was five years old. my mom, dad, and i dressed up as the Smurf family. we all were painted blue from head to toe. my mom is a creative rockstar and sewed it all for us. loved it!

also, i work at an AIDS project and have worked in the social work field for a while. i'm daily reminded that compassion is respect without passing judgement. i'm with you Mister. now to take that lesson into all of my life...

OMG! Thanks for the laughter as I sat at work and laughed at people rolling down a hill after a thing of cheese!

Thank you for the out loud laughs at work! Nothing like laughing at others falling down let alone chasing a roll of cheese.

Dear EM! I love that you celebrate October's Eve <3 You're awesome hehe (ps. Happy American Pharmacist Month :) hehe yay!)

Tim! Kudos to you for being patient in learning compassion.. I'm trying to learn it in pharmacy school too :) Good luck! <3

I've never had a very interesting halloween costume.. but I would love to be an infectious disease (LOL!) or even better, a PILL! hehehe <3 I'm trying to convince my roomies!

A flip flop with painted toes , Bob Ross, jeans & hoodie, Janet and Timberlake, Box O' Wine, Mr. Loerke, dental floss, Smurf family, infectious disease, and a pill...you all are creative! Definitely love the medical costumes...maybe a little biased :-)

Scatterbox, Shauna, and amy...thank you for the encouraging words. The field of medicine will either drive you towards cynicism or come face to face with compassion.
