There is only one word to describe last night's show: UNFREAKINBELIEVABLE. Tim and I had seen Mumford & Sons perform with The Middle East back in May and thought that show couldn't be topped. Boy were we wrong!Highlights: 1) Hot date night with the Tyroch's 2) King Charles' hair 3) Husband getting janked in the grill with Cadillac Sky's guitar pick 4) Buying my first concert t-shirt (how can this be?) and 5) shakin our tail feathers to Little Lion Man, The Cave, and White Blank Page. (Insert greatest concert of 2010 here). Watch THIS video to get a taste of the awesomeness we experienced. |

Emily- that looks absolutely amazing!! I am actually listening to Mumford & Sons right now- wishing that I could go back in time to when M&S was performing in SF- a few weeks ago.. Alas, I will have to see them on the next go around.. But.. THANK YOU!!! for introducing this band to me!! A while back you put "Winter Winds" on your blog and I was hooked! I am actually thinking about putting "Little Lion Man" and "The Cave" and "Roll away your stone" on a mix CD for my Pops.. I know he will love it just as much as I do..
I cannot view your video in your link.. Is there another way to view it? Put it on your fb page?
Thanks again, Em- your blog has greatly influenced my life- and for that, you get a bucket full of fist pumps and leg shimmies! :)
OMG!!!! SO AMAZING!!!!! So jealous! King Charles' hair was awesome! And #5...those are all my absolute fav songs too!!! I live through you today <333
ps- the video doesnt work :(
should be fixed now! xoxo
we are going this sunday in atlanta...woot!!!!!!!!!!
Stellar pics! I am going to see Mumford & Sons tonight in New Orleans and just got even more E X C I T E D [which I didn't think was possible!!] Thanks for sharing!
Don't feel bad about not getting a concert tee before. I fondly recall shelling out $28 in 1989 for a Bon Jovi shirt (this equates to about $50 with inflation). The entire front side was just his huge dome and doubly-huge nest of ratted 80s hair. It was also an XL, which to this day, I don't know where the crap the 90s/my need to buy XL shirts as a young high school girl came from. That concert, however, was the ta-tas.
If Mumford's tees were anything like that snazzy backdrop illustration, you've saved up for a well-spent first purchase.
FUN!!! Love Mumford & Sons!
michaela, a bucket full of fist pumps and leg shimmies. hot damn! xoxo
michelle, king charles could give tina turner a run for her money.
amanda, you will never be the same! so happy for you.
paige, how was it?? can't wait to hear your thoughts.
t.jett, it was indeed worth the wait. 30 dollhairs well spent i'd say.
mel, add one of their shows to your bucket list. you won't be disappointed!
So jealous, Emily! I missed out on the closest M&S concert out my way (Knoxville, TN). It sold out too quickly! Sounds like you had a blast. I saw Cadillac Sky here in Asheville a few years back and really loved them. I DID get to see Band of Horses last week, though, which is ranking up there for me as one of the best shows of 2010. Thanks for being an inspiration w/ your zest for life. :)
You saw the Middle East with Mumford and Sons!!!
woah. so cool. They are a band from my hometown Townsville. Such a small world, and an incredible band.
My husband actually dated a girl, who dated a boy in the Middle East. weird and quite distant but i love this band.
Hope you enjoyed the show.
This is a little late but I just discovered your blog! I live in Denton and just graduated from UNT's main campus! My husband and I were at both of those Mumford and Sons concerts. Soooo amazing... absolute religious experience, as the best concerts are!
