Today's Letters: Dear Timothy Loerke PA-S III, sometimes working long hours at the hospital does strange things to you. Final Napping Score: 8.9 (for level of difficulty), 10 for execution. Dear Thanksgiving Dinner, last night you left me no choice but to ride my invisible horse and shout, "Holy FEAST OF AWESOMENESS, Batman!" Ten fist pumps for being the best Thanksgiving meal I've ever had. Dear Concerts, Ray Lamontagne @ Nokia tomorrow night, then The Freelance Whales @ The Loft on Friday. Will be sure and bring my xylophone and fedora. Dear Husband, love you more than fleece blankets with a side of sleep lines. Over and out.

A dear friend teases me about how much I LOVE NAPS. When was the last time you took a nap? Do you have a favorite napping spot? We think napping in forts or while wearing our favorite hats can be MAGICAL.

if I had an Indian name, it would be Sleeping Pear because I LOVE TO NAP and I bruise easily. I am one of the world's best nappers and take pride in my ability. :)

I am a collective napper - I only like to do it as part of a pair.

We napped on Sunday. Falling back is tough work!

Under the duvet [our favorite hiding place from monsters], on top of the quilt - sideways.

AH...a nap. I love napping while riding in a car...the feeling of the car in motion puts me to sleep. Just lean the seat back and...ZzZzZzZzZz

The fam-in-loves live in Pensacola, FL, and we live in Anniston, AL, so the 5.5 hour road trip is the perfect time to conversate for the first half, then conk out for the last half. The hubby is so sweet to drive and just let me snooze.

I love napping but there is a fine line between a good nap and a bad nap - if you sleep slightly extra than you should and you wake up feeling all groggy and worse off. I regularly nap on the sofa but have been found to nap in the middle of the living room floor and an air bed in my tent. I feel asleep sitting up at my friends house it was about 2 in the afternoon and I'd only known them about 3 weeks I was exhausted and napped there and then lol.

I fell asleep at church once - my Dad elbowed me in the ribs and I nearly jumped. I also feel asleep during a world cup match at church a few years ago. I was in the front row of chairs and just crashed out lol.

ha ha ha...double ha. do I love to nap? I have been known to say I nap (and it's as often as possible sometimes even on my lunch break)not because I'm really tired but because it just feels SOOOOO good. The best place in my old green couch.

i used to nap every. single. day. when i was in college. now i don't get to nap as often, but when i do it's almost always w/my honey. sometimes on fridays we make plans to go to dinner at 7 and say, oh we'll just take a little nap before, and then sleep until 10 pm. then we make yummy snacks, like nachos, and watch movies all night.

I just can't nap unless I'm ill. The hour that was planned turns into 4 and then I feel awful and wide awake at 2am. My husband does not understand me.

I love Sunday afternoon family naptime. We haven't been able to experience this for a while, but when the whole house is quiet and we're all snuggled in, it's wonderful. The best part is waking up well rested and ready for the rest of the day!

I too have a friend that teases me about napping. I've always been a napper. It does great things for me. My favorite spot is on the couch with the TV turned onto a movie that I've seen a million times.
When my first baby was in deed a baby, we'd take TWO naps together every.single.day. Pure bliss.

hmm... naps ended for me about 2.5 years ago when i became a mom! Damn hormone wackiness.
You can enjoy them for me though... i guess. hmph!

This pic is just plain funny. do you do photo shop stuff? will you take my one year olds pics in a field? How much would you charge for that? I love your pics. :)

Every since I found I am having a baby in April I nap everyday. Usually in my car on my lunch break between classes!
I never knew napping could be SO amazing! :)

I have two toddlers and can't remember the last time I napped or even slept all night. I truly have day dreams of napping. It sounds heavenly. My son is asleep on the couch in our playroom now and I have just convinced myself to cuddle with him and try for a power nap. :) Napping with little baby arms around you is the best.

i'm not a natural napper. the only times i've regularly taken them are when we were in the early stages of a pregnancy and didn't know it yet. :0) if i had a few-day stretch with afternoon naps, we figured it was time to take a pregnancy test since it's so out of character for me.

if i'm exhausted, i'll nap occasionally. i've learned my favorite spot is on top of our fully made bed. i guess i'm a neat freak like that! ha!

Best nap...Randomly falling asleep in the car during a *heart to heart* talk at the lake. Not that I'm speaking from experience or anything.

The first naps I remember are my grandma laying down a pallet for me in her living room with a quilt she had made just for me. It always had a cool side, like a pillow, and it felt awesome. She would lay on the couch and watch her soap operas and begin to doze off. As soon as she was asleep, I would sneak and build make shift ladder to the upper cabinets of the kitchen. There I could find a jar of peanut butter, fingers only please, and raisin bran cereal.

Loooove naps - in fact i'm slightly narcoleptic and fall asleep really easily! i nap most days on my 15 min subway ride to & from work (luckily the last stop both ways!), and often fall asleep in a car (not while driving), yoga, and once even church. oops! there are a few couches in my life that are the best places though!

have so much fun at your concerts!!

You have awakened me. I am ready to learn more tricks.

sleeping pear, you strong like bull. i hope the tater inherits your gift of napping! xoxo

teresa, i give you 9.2 pts for your napping technique. i likey.

zigzag, you are a car narcoleptic. me too, but husband doesn't like me to sleep while he's driving. he wants to play. it's that whole introvert extrovert thing.

han, totally agree. too long of a nap can cause more damage than good.

michelle, you have a green couch monster too? crazy how those can eat you alive.

jaderox213, a short nap before dinner. i like it. if only husband and i could stay up late on the weekends. i feel like when friday rolls around we turn into a 60 year old couple who longs for an 8pm bedtime.

stacy, husband has trouble napping too. sometimes he lays next to me and then fakes being asleep. once i'm out he'll leave and go study. it's a win win if you ask me.

shan, sun afternoon nap time / quiet = bliss. i need to make this happen more often!

brl, they are the wind beneath my wings. glad to see you agree :)

anony, is this cc? naps with banny? they have to be up there with scrubs in the student center.

kristin, love love love falling asleep on the couch with the tv on quietly in the background. give me a hoodie over my head and a blanket and i'll see you after halftime.

grace@armswideopen, damn hormones is right. naps do a body good.

brandi, i do use photoshop. shoot me an email about taking pics of mason. would love to make it happen!

megan, congrats on your pregnancy! naps in the car are magical, esp when carrying a bambino.

the coons family, was it a success? tell me, tell me.

r, i could sleep on top of our biscuit as long as i have heavy blankets to keep me warm. i have a feeling you and tim are the same when it comes to putting your unshowered self into the biscuit.

heather, oh, i wanna put that nap in my back pocket. please and thank you.

lainie, what a great picture you left me of your napping years. homemade quilts, napping grandma's, secret stashes of awesomeness in the high cupboards ... dreamy.

morgandkim, tim was never a napping person until he met me. now he loves it when he can. ya hooooo is right! xoxo
