Today's Letters: Dear Mr. Loerke, Saturday night we saw reindeer, shared a piece of Cafe Brazil's Chocolate Indulgence Cake, and drank hot chocolate served with a side of two straws. I loved this. Dear Fellas, since returning home from his first hunting trip Tim has A) asked to buy a shot gun B) thinks we should spend our January clothing allowance at Cabela's C) requested a duck call in his stocking for Christmas or D) all of the above. Dear Homemade Salt Dough Ornaments, three points for being easy to make, four points for bedazzling our leaning tower of tree-za with childhood memories. Dear Timothy James, rumor has it that some will leave tonight's festivities wearing Woobie capes. Can't wait!

What's your favorite Christmas tree ornament?
In preschool Twinner and I made bells out of medicine cups, pipe cleaners, and glitter. To this day they are still hung proudly at the top of our tree.

HAPPY FREAKIN MONDAY, HOMIES!

This year, my favorite ornaments are my "baby's first Christmas" ornaments with my babies pictures on them. My babies are now 19 & 17, and I'm very sentimental this year as I realize their time at home with me is coming to an end very soon.

I really like the couple of ornaments I have that I made by cutting a slice of the tree trunk off drilling a hole and writing "Christmas 2001...Scott Street" (or where ever I was living at the time.

I'm so glad you included the ornament recipe! Our little tree is bare and I think you've just given me the perfect way to spruce it up before our holiday party on Thursday! I was going to just wait until after the holidays to buy ornaments----but now I might be able to *save the day* before then :) THANKS!!!!

Agreed. Sorry least favorite post. Vegan here. I know people do it all the time, but I am always surprised when someone says they have killed a living animal and want to do more of it.

hna, they are so easy and are the perfect craft for when you're snowed in.

kim, i loved your comment! becoming an empty nester was one of the hardest things my mom has ever had to do.

michelle, what a great idea! might have to steal that one this year.

ash, i should have made a leg lamp. or aunt bethany's jello mold. or zuzu's pedals. next time.

neighbor, i hope you win won tonight. better brush up on your today's letter trivia!

erin, they are really so easy to make! we ended up painting ours but you don't have to. we also did not spray them with any sort of glaze.

amanda, i love it! we have a pickle ornament that we hide every year on christmas eve. it's one of our favorites!

anony's, it breaks my heart to know we may have offended some of you with our hunting photo. can we still be friends even if we are meat eaters? twinner is a vegan but we like to play smartwool games, fall asleep watching movies together, and enjoy dancing in our unmentionables.

please circle yes or no.

circle yes. but no more dead animal photos.

Hi! This is Dana from Saturday Mornings blog, I have been reading your blog like crazy and wish you luck in the contest! I have even been bragging on you to my hubby, telling him we need to ask each other some of your questions! So far he is a no go, but he will give in soon I bet! Merry Christmas!

anony, deal!

dana, thanks for stopping by to say hello! your blog reminds me of a gigantic bowl of sprinkles. so fun! perhaps over time your beloved would be interested in our questions. tim was not fired up about being so vulnerable at first, but he knew it was one of the few things that sparked good communication. after almost four years of asking them we can't imagine going another week without them! best of luck to you this week in the contest! i noticed you voted for us which was incredibly sweet and thoughtful. xoxo
