Today's Letters: Dear Mr. Loerke, after working out yesterday you walked around the house flexing your muscles until I noticed you posing in the living room. Reason #251 why boy roommates are AWE to the SOME. Dear Decaf Chai, you are often the perfect night cap to a long wintry day. If only you tasted this good in August when we all get swamp ass from walking outside to check the mail. Dear Self, sometimes you have so much to do, all you can do is go to bed. This doesn't mean you've failed. Dear Husband, sometimes we work out deals in exchange for services we can't afford. Pretty sure our friendship reached a new level when you asked me to cut your hair last night as payment for plucking my eyebrows. Over and out.

How is your boy (or girl) roommate AWE to the SOME?

Yesterday me and my boy roomie went to a local restaurant for dinner. On the way home we were discussing being self-sufficient, we decided that goats were better than cows if I could grow to like goats milk on my muesli rather than cows milk. Then we had a whole conversation about poo - but he misunderstood when I commented about how dogs being like goats - I had meant that I don't want a dog because I don't want to clear up after it (same with goats) except he decided that I wanted to milk the dog like you would to a goat - he pointed out that, that was probably animal cruelty - yes we are weird but that's why we are awesome too

The best part is when 20 years later and they have long since stopped working out....you'll still catch them sucking in their gut in the mirror or flexing after the one day they lift weights. So funny. But only AWE to the SOME.

My boy roommate (husband of 16 years) hasn't worked out in two months and he still looks seriously hot...I'm a little (a lot) jealous, but I still think it's AWE to the SOME! Oh, and I showed him my new favorite blog (yours) and I have been getting a weekly love letter ever since. Thanks! :)

He loves my son like he was his own...there's nothing more awesome than that!

Oh...and he draws me embroidery patterns...

he takes the dog out at night, every night because he knows a.) it takes me 30 min to get ready for bed, now that i have braces and b.) it's too cold outside for me (yes, even here in southern louisiana). also, he gets more into call of duty, ghost adventures, zombie movies and swamp people than i could have ever imagined (and has me loving them too!). aaaaaand he looks pretty gosh-darn-cute in those sailor uniforms of his. :-)

I don't have a boy roomie, but I am currently taking applications for such things. Does the Mr. have a brother?

My boy roommate (husband for 5 years) makes me smoothies in the am, makes taco dinners when I'm pooped, and makes the bed only if I'm helping and ask. Let's say that's not exactly his favorite chore. :) He is a produce farmer and reads news about tomatoes and cabbage in his free time. Did you know he sold almost 1 million ears of corn last summer? His passion for his family and his profession makes him AWE to the SOME in my eyes!

my boy roomate of 10.5 years makes the most amazing grilled cheese sammies when i fail to prepare dinner for the wee folk.

I'm from South Florida and just moved an hour north of Atlanta about 2 weeks ago. Both of my roommates are from northern states where they get feet of snow so they weren't exactly impressed with the 5 inches of snow we got here yesterday. Like a little kid I begged them for hours to come out and play in the snow and they finally gave in. They're pretty awe to the some roommates. I built this guy http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?pid=66492264&l=797d462459&id=5205956

My boy roommate of 3.5 years is always AWE to the SOME. :) Yesterday we went to the steepest road in our neighborhood (the one some people refuse to even drive down because it freaks them out) and went SLEDDING!! It was AMAZINGLY FUN. I got to see the kid in him (which is rare nowadays while work keeps him busy 70-80 hours a week...I'll be glad when that's over). Also, we cuddled in front of the gas fireplace with our husky and some hot chai tea with local honey (and local non-homogenized milk in mine) while I read 90 Minutes in Heaven and he finished the book His Need, Her Needs...such a GREAT book if any of you haven't read it already!

PS: Girlseeksplace, I know of one brother he has who is taken by one of my childhood friends...sorry! I'm not sure if he has any others. :)

Oops, that should be His Needs, Her Needs, not His Need, Her Needs. :) Seroiusly guys...it's an oldie but a goodie. My mom gave it to us because she had read it before I was born, and the wisdom in it was still great for us!

My boy roomate likes to make motivational posters that he sticks above our door! When it is his turn to do the food shop he always makes sure there is one 'fun' meal (read unhealthy). And he gives me and girl roomate bear hugs when we are not feeling so AWE to the SOME: he is the best.

My boy roomate (husband of almost 2 years) is a grill master. I'm totally spoiled and his skills have turned me into a cheeseburger snob. Good thing too, since I'm a little bit of a pyro-phob. We truly are meant for each other ;)

Um yes, I like what you said to yourself about just going to bed. I may (or may not) have gone to bed at 8:30 one night last week due to exhaustion. Whew.

My boy-toy roommate (hubby of 2 1/2 years) is AWE to the SOME because he never gets tired of me whining for a back rub. He's the best.

Oh and it also helps that he randomly breaks out in crazy dancing in the middle of the living room sometimes. Cracks me up.

Today, my love (husband of 1 year & counting!) told me I will be a sexy grandma because he is pretty sure I will never change how I look from right now. At 26 years old, I love knowing he can't wait to grow old with me.

He does 99.5% of the cooking, and he does it insanely well. We would have otherwise a) starved to death by now, or 2) gotten hella fat going out to eat and making frozen foods. And I do love me some eatin'.

Mainly, he's been beyond patient with and supportive of me this past year, even when I may not have deserved it. A thousand times more important than stuffing my gut.

It would have to be all the bug-killin', skivvy-dancin', coffee makin', lovenote-writin', baby-lovin', foot-rubbin', obsessivehouse-cleanin', trash-disposin', smile-wearin', andygriffiththemesong-whistlin' that makes my hubs boy roommate so HUMAZIN!

My boy roomate (husband of 7 years) is Awe to the Some because he pulls my truck out of the ditch when I slide in the snow, he makes dinner for me after a long day in which we both went to work, he kisses me every morning before he leaves for work and tells me that he loves me, and he is still the sexiest man that I know.

my handsome boy roommate once used a baseball bat to crush almonds, mops our floor every. single. day, and yesterday, he used the (big) vacuum to get 4 and a half cookie crumbs off the table. love that guy.

I re-read the comment to the boy roomie and I was wrong. He was worrying that my hypothetical dog was pooping like a goat. Oops. Communication fail.

My boy roommate makes forts for our boys, tackle-hugs me on onto our bed, and is the funnest person I know. I love to spend time with him!

My husband is amazing to me still after almost 18 years. We have weathered crying babies, a very sick asthmatic little one, gone on super fun vacations, cried and grieved for a year and a half over the death of his mother and worshipped God together every day. Love him so much.

You know the part about going to bed when the to-do list seems a bit overwhelming?... Yeah, amen sister. Thanks for posting that.

My boy roommate and husband of 2+ years is a-w-e-s-o-m-e because he is courageous. He rises to the occasion.

Just discovered your blog, and I love it! So creative and unique! I see from previous posts that you have a lot of readers! Guess I'm late in the game!

My boyfriend (husband of 6 years) is my best friend. One thing that I LOVE is that he makes my coffee every morning, and he isn't even a coffee drinker! Last summer I wanted to go to Haiti, and he stayed home (when he really wanted to go, too) and watched our 3 year-old and 1 year-old. How awesome is that?!
