Today's Letters: Dear Mr. Loerke, this morning I woke up to you singing Bone Thugs-n-Harmony while you waited on your toast to finish. Tomorrow's long distance breakfast dedication? "Jump" by Kris Kross or "Poison" by Bel Biv Devoe. (Circle one). Dear Moleskine, after watching this video I knew exactly how I wanted to spend my Barnes & Noble gift card. Perhaps my new recipe book will one day be as magical as reading about Nainie's sister in the loony bin. Dear Go Month (Get Organized Month), clean office, check. Borrowed things returned, check. Medicine cabinet purged and organized? ... Not sure if this one is possible being married to a PA. Throwing away expired medicine is like burning their Woobies. Dear Husband, each week we spend $104.73 on gas for you to commute to Cleburne for your pediatric rotation. My only thought? Those. Kids. Are. Worth. It.

What's one area of your house you'd like to get organized this month?

A special THANKS to those of you who have voted for us this week! Your response has been truly humbling ...

The whole damn thing! ;)
Everyone went back to school and work this week. I am kicking my kitchen's hiney today.

I am with Chris... ALL AREAS. We are taking baby steps, cleaning out one closet and/or large storage type furniture piece at a time. The goal is for everything to have a place and to get rid of the junk.

I do confess that I saved one pencil that I am sure I had in elementary school (against the wishes of my husband, obviously). But it was COOL... it is the kind that has little individual pieces of lead that you take off the top when they are exhausted and put into the bottom of the pencil, pushing up the next lead unit.

I want a blog post at the end of the month about your finds from the clean out (whether you keep it or throw it away). I have a feeling that you will have some good finds.

The shed - it's a mess! It's the dumping ground in some hope that we can keep the house tidy lol.

My sewing room is first on the list. I need to make more quilts this year! Love this recipe book will have to pick one up today. my recipes are like gold to me and I know someday my kids will feel the same.

basement BaseMent BASEMENT!!! We had it waterproofed in September and it hasn't been put back properly. I'm hoping to tackle it when the Christmas decorations are put away.

My closet. Pulling everything out this weekend and only putting back in what I'll use this year.

You ready to sell a wall guitar yet?

I love all things Moleskin, and that video made me want to leave my house right now and go buy one! Thanks for sharing!

i don't think there is something i want to organize, but more, i would like to keep my dresser free of things living on top of it. i throw things there and don't take them off for days. i blame it on the fact that i do not have a desk.

Gotta get at the home office and do some serious de-cluttering. You can't organize clutter: you can only send it packing.

hooray organizing! its like real life tetris!
p.s. singing "poison" all.day.long. ...thanks.

I agree with Chris... The whole thing! Mostly I think with our bedroom or the kitchen. It seems like everything collects there! The boy and I found that recipe journal and B&N the other day looking for something to spend his gift card with too! He decided he would rather keep his recipes in digital format, though. (I love it when my man cooks dinner!)

our bedroom. it's becoming the general dumping ground rather than the restful space it was intended to be.

I also need to clean the entire house, but the two areas that need tackled first are the office/guest room and my son's room. Need to pack up all baby toys and take them to storage. Such a massive undertaking...

I got a recipe journal for Christmas and am about to write my first entry for Breakfast Cookies :) Organization? Pretty much everywhere for me. I am soooooo not organized!

our garage + closets need unpacking and purging like WHOAH right now. I can't wait for spring, so we can have our first garagey sale!

The tool & paint shelves in our laundry room need organized. Again. I recently purged expired meds. It was so refreshing! I was raised by a doctor and a nurse and in our house we had a medicine CLOSET. I'm very proud of the small box of essentials in our bathroom cabinet.

chris, there's nothing that makes me happier than a deep cleaned kitchen! good luck.

brandon & catherine, not too long ago my dad sent me a pencil of mine from elementary school. it was orange and had my name engraved on it. i'm so glad he kept it! one day i will pass it onto my kids.

han, we don't have a shed but the locker on our back porch looks like a graveyard for husband's grilling supplies.

mindy, i have a sewing machine but have no idea how to use it. i need lessons!

amanda, i feel the same throughout the better part of the year. i've learned to tackle a new area each weekend and somehow that cuts down on collecting crap we don't need.

stacy, basement? you must live in the midwest!

james, i think if you reorganize your closet you deserve a wall guitar. (if only they didn't mean so much to us) ha!

amanda, i can't wait to find my happy place tomorrow afternoon and start writing in it!

sweet annie, you are like mr. loerke! i always tease him about his collection of clothes, medical badges, and books that land on his dresser.

queen mother, so true. only keep the things you use and love. everything else isn't worth hanging onto.

mich, that gurrrrl is poison ...

gracie, glad you're a fan of moleskine's too! (even if it takes awhile for your husband to get on board ;)

david, that's the exact song he was singing. if only you could have seen him dmo! you would have been so proud.

r & kristimae, you can do it! i believe in you both!

alysa, breakfast cookies. i'll be borrowing that recipe soon!

shan, i would imagine having your first garage sale at a family would be a sweet memory. i look forwrad to hearing about it this spring!

mymcmlife, i'll have to take before and after photos of our medicine cabinet. my meds have always fit inside a small box until i married a pa :)

kendar, thanks for voting! xoxo

this beautiful little blog i stumbled upon is worth ever bit of it!
...
and what am i organizing? i think it might be time to "clean up" my messy desk. i am a clean freak/ super organizer.... but i allow myself to leave all my crafty stuff & scrapbook & cards out on my messy desk....but i am running out of room to create ;)

P.s. love the notebook - I nearly treated myself to the Films one a few weeks ago but then I was good and put it back on the shelf and walked away lol.
