Husband's Letters: Dear Mrs. Loerke, this week you found our first journal for the last time. Can't wait to start Journal #2 with you! Dear PA Hill, on Tuesday you gave me many pearls of wisdom and literally gave me one to remember the encouraging conversation we had. Thank you for believing in me as a student, leader, and person. Dear Orthopedic Surgery, I never thought you would be one of my future rotations but I'm looking forward to learning about hip replacements, fracture repairs, and arthoscopies. Dear Emo, this morning I came with you to Camp Gladiator. Pretty sure you'll have to peel me off the floor like a pancake later.

Love,
Husband

HAPPY FREAKIN WEEKEND!

What pearls of wisdom have recently been shared with you?

Don't forget to check back later today for our
FIST PUMP FRIDAY photos!

I recently read that one negative comment can wipe out the effects of five or even twenty positives. Good for me to remember when I'm hungry, angry, tired, or late (HALT). "Reckless words pierce like a sword." Proverbs 12:18 ...

I had a bad day on Saturday, we were at a friend's birthday party and I felt really left out - I was supposed to be helping set up but then couldn't go to the planning meeting they had so I just showed up with Chris and helped him - by the time it got to the party I wasn't in the mood - I wanted to go home and put on my jammies.

My friend - we'll call her Mummy2 gave me a big hug like a proper squeeze of a hug. We were stood in the corridor and she took me to one side but we had to keep dodging people walking along the corridor - Chris opened the church and we sat in the worship area, we had a chat and Mummy2 gave me some pearls of wisdom but somehow by the time I got home I forgot them :( She's going to tell me it again because it was important

Passion is an attitude about approaching everything in a marriage. Without it, it is just a normal relationship between good friends. Passion takes friendship a giant leap forward to a level that is desired by all. Passion should be spiritual, emotional and physical. Strive for more passion each and every day.

When I was going through a divorce and met James (bad timing) a dear friend who works with me at the hospital as a chaplian told me "I know you think this relationship is bad timing, but sometimes you have to take the good things in life when they are presented to you".

I think about that often...as my Grandma told me "life is messy" and things don't happen when you want them to...but sometimes they happen when you need them to.

After three children and ten years of marriage and practicing law, my sweet husband has answered the call to ministry and has begun his seminary journey. I recently met with our pastor's wife and asked her for any wisdom she might share with me in preparing to be a pastor's wife. Her words were simple and profound: Love the Word and Learn the Word.

I looked for my little paper on which I had written this quote but now I can't find it, but it was something like, "There is a great tragedy in not being able to answer an exact and decided 'No'".

Sometimes as Christians we want to help and minister and we wear ourselves out and do too much. It's good to remember what our FIRST responsibilities are and THEN help others...for the most part, of course, there are exceptions.

Today in chapel, the speaker left us with this takeaway: We are not called to bring Earth to Heaven when we die. Rather, we are called to bring Heaven to Earth while we live.

The secret to living joy in every situation is learning how to give thanks in every circumstance.

That God's grace covers EVERYHING, and EVERY situation. By labeling things good or bad in our life we are putting limits on who HE is and what HE is capable of.
Isaiah 14:24
The LORD Almighty has sworn, "Surely, as I have planned, so it will be, and as I have purposed, so it will stand.

I think its neat you're going to be doing Orthapedics.

As a girl that had many Orthapedic surgeries I think it can be life chaging. But I suppose all medical is.

if this is poorly written I haven't slept in two days.
