{Mr. Loerke's PA School Graduation Invitations}

Tuesday, April 05, 2011

As most of you know, Tim is getting ready to graduate from Physician Assistant school in May. This makes me so happy I could run through the streets nekky, or at least ride my invisible horse around the house while shouting, "Oh, praise you Great Lion of Judah!" I mean the dude's been in school for the past 25 years, so graduating next month is kind of a big deal. That said, I was inspired to channel my inner Martha Stuart for making his invitations.

First, I ordered 40 prescription bottles (size PM-20) off of Ebay for $11.20 (S&H included). Thankfully the seller I purchased these from was more than willing to accommodate my request for matching lids and bottles.

Then I had a friend help me design a label that resembled one found on a prescription bottle. (The 93K miles represents the number of miles Tim has put on the Fart Box over the last three years commuting to school. AWESOME.).

Next we designed the invitations to look like scripts and printed them on 8 1/2" x 11" paper (4 per page).

After washing and drying the bottles I stuck on the labels. This was kind of like sticking on Band-Aids but not as painful.

Then I folded the invitations in half and stuck them inside.

Next I filled the prescription bottles with Good & Plenty's which we picked up at CVS for $10.00. (Each box fills approximately 3 1/2 bottles).

Finally, I stuck the invitations in 6" x 9" padded envelopes and dropped them in the mail for Mr. McFeely to deliver.

The end.
Em

We did this same thing for my brother's wedding! He is a pharmacist and we decided to do a candy buffet for his "grooms cake" and favors. We ordered different bulk candy that resembled pills and had guests fill their prescription bottles with the candy! Great minds, I tell ya...
