{Letters from Sohee, Mrs. McGeeHee and Tyroch}

Friday, May 06, 2011

Today you get to read guest letters from three of my favorite people in the world: Sophie "Sohee" Macfarlan, Mel "Mrs. McGeeHee" McKee, and Stephanie "Tyroch" Tyroch. The four of us couldn't be more different. They teach me about dresses and mascara, I teach them about good music and food dehydrators. But somehow we manage to go together like Tonto and the Lone Ranger. That said, I hope you enjoy getting to know my Homies. They will make you laugh until you cry and remind you to love the person you are becoming. Happy Freakin Friday, Homies!

{Letters from Sohee Macfarlan}

Dear Mac: Nothing beats sending you a YouTube link and calling you on speakerphone to listen to you laugh like a school girl. I love our own little language and getting your water at night. You and Sloan pretty much light up my life.

Dear Sloan: You funny 'cause you climb into the bath with your clothes on, drink Mac's beer he left out from the night before, and eat couch Oreos circa 2008. Thanks for the crusty peas on my neck I noticed AFTER I got home from a party, for making me call Poison Control twice last month, and for letting me pass all those suckas in the HOV.

Dear Park Cities Fire Department: Thanks for coming over last night after I smelled gas and noticed Sloan playing with the fireplace. Nothing like the feeling of your out-of-the-country in-law's house going up in flames.

Dear Buying In Bulk: I love you, but I'm running out of space for my macaroni and light bulbs. You understand.

Dear Lady in Front of Me At Spin Class: Thanks for giving me and Blair a good 5:30am giggle as we noticed your leopard print undies behind your see-through white spandex shorts. Who knew you could ride standing up the WHOLE time? Get it, girl.

Dear Shaved Legs:
I don't care how cold it's been this week. I'm wearing shorts to show you off 'cause I'm not gonna let you bad boys go to waste.

Peace out,
Sohee

{Letters from Mrs. McGeeHee}

Dear Big Sexy McKee: When I married you on October 4, 2008 I thought life couldn't get any sweeter. Now 3 years down the road I am more in love with you today than I was then, and I can't fathom life without my 6'7" stud muffin. You are a man of integrity, unwavering faith, and a wonderful daddy! Praise the Lord that our son has your laid back personality. Thank you for forgiving me even when I don't ask for it, making me laugh so hard that I pee my pants, and for pushing me towards the cross. Each new season of life gets better because I get the honor of walking each step of the way with my best friend. Love ya mucho! "I am my beloved's and he is mine." Song of Solomon 2:16

Dear Braden: Six weeks ago today I endured 27 hours of labor and pushed an 8lb 7oz baby out of me! There was sweat, vomiting, pain, and stitches but the moment I held you in my arms I knew it was all worth it. How can I be so crazy in love with a little peanut that I just met and who has never said a word to me? I thank the Lord that He has entrusted me with such a precious gift. I LOVE YOU BIGGER THAN THE SKY! "I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made, your works are wonderful, I know that full well." Psalm 139:14

Dear Postpartum: I decided since Braden eats every 2-3 hours that mommy should too. Thank you for being gracious to me during the "recovery phase." Don't tell hubby but I'm ready for another fetus. "Be Joyful always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus." I Thessalonians 5:16-18

Dear Family: Braden told me the other night that you live too far away! I realized this last weekend while I was breastfeeding him on a toilet at a gas station somewhere between Big D and Austin.

Dear Watermark Community Church: Man, do I miss being on staff with you clowns! Children's ministry, I will always hold superheros, innapropriate jokes, and farkles close to my heart. Proud to be part of a body that loves me enough not to let me stay where I am. "Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has gone and the new has come." 2 Corithians 5:17

Dear Jesus: words cannot express how much you have blessed me the last 27 years of my life. Thank you for family, friends, a roof over my head, warm showers, and clean water. Thank you for your living and active Word that is "sharper than any two-edged sword." Thank you for using the friends in my life to transform my heart. Thank you for dying on the cross for my sins so that I can spend eternity in heaven with you. "For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith. It is a gift of God, not by works, so that no one can boast." Ephesians 2:8-9

Pony Up Ya'll!
Mrs. McGeeHee

{Letters from Stephanie Tyroch}

Dear Jonathan Christopher Tyroch: some people think it's weird that I still call you by your last name since we're married now. But I like it, and wouldn't have it any other way. This week we celebrated 10 months of marriage -- ALREADY! Can you believe it?! The past 306 days of matrimony have been incredible. Last night we ran the Katy Trail, walked to Rock N' Taco for dinner, watched the Event, and finished some work/reading. Hooray for quality time AND productivity. You know that's how I roll.

Dear Brother Bear and Nicky: have I told you how cool it is that you are married AND you share the same birthday? I don't think you guys could be any more perfect for each other. HAPPY 31st BIRTHDAY (tomorrow) to you both! Can't wait to see you in t-minus 14 days. And Jeff, congrats on completing your last year of med school. Enjoy your trip to Scotland. Hope you (and dad) play well. We both know how he gets when his golf swing isn't up to par. (No pun intended).

Dear Carrie Underwood: your rendition of How Great Thou Art brings me to tears every time I hear it. That's All.

Dear Lula B's in Deep Ellum: Em told me about you the other day, and BOY OH BOY am I glad I paid you a visit. Thank you for my steal-of-a-deal purchase on Saturday. I LOVE LOVE LOVE my new chairs, and plan on coming back really soon.

Dear Lavernie: Happy Early Mother's Day. I can't tell you how much I cherish our relationship. I am SO looking forward to celebrating with you on Sunday. Swiss Avenue Mother's Day Home Tour, here we come!

Dear Snooze Button: Why do you always seem so much bigger than all the other buttons? I haven't been to Camp Gladiator in three whole weeks because of you. We gotta figure something out ...

Love,
Steph

Dear Mrs. Tyroch,
I have fallen more in love with you through the last 306 days. I was certain that would be an impossible feat, because of my feelings for you leading up to July 3rd, but I was way wrong as you continually and consistently bless and amaze me each and every day. There isn't a luckier man on the planet. Sunday can't come soon enough. You are my best friend - I love you!

Signing off from South Florida,
Your Husband
