Today's Letters: Dear Mr. Loerke, whenever you help me carry in boxes from the rain it makes me wanna make out. Just sayin. Dear Tom Hanks & Julia Roberts, well color me happy! A romantic comedy with two of my favorite actors. One question: does your scooter corner like it's on rails? Dear Twinner, this afternoon I get to tackle you at the airport. Promise to hug you tight like Lennie and his rabbits. Dear Timothy James PA-C, t-minus 9 days until you take your boards. Radiculopathy due to herniation of the intervertebral disc at L5-S1 would lead to motor deficit of which area? A) dorsiflexors B) multiple areas C) plantar flexors or D) quadriceps. (Bonus sugar if you get it right).

If you could meet any actor / actress who would it be? Loerke survey says Steve Carrell, Julia, or Meg Ryan.

Happy freakin Thursday, Homies. The weekend's almost here ... you did it!

Girls: Zooey Deschanel or Amber Tamblin. :)
Guys: Matt Smith.

My answer is B - I know as much that your L5-S1 are two vertabraes in your back and L refers to Lumbar - so it's lower back where the docs take an LP.

Will Ferrel and Tina Fey

How fun!! Airport pickups are the best!! Although tightened security totally ruined the very best 'picking up someone from the gate' experience. Either way, nothing's sweeter than an airport reunion!

For me, it'd be jimmy fallon, tina fey, kristen wiig, steve martin, or zac galifianakis. :)

My answer is D because I would imagine that the patellar DTR would be diminished which relies on quadriceps contraction via the innervation from the spinal nerves at the L5-S1 level. Fingers crossed. I stepped out on a limb and answered without looking it up...Internet, I'm ok if I'm wrong :-)

Julia. There is no one better!

I'm wrong. The answer is C...because the L5 affects the nerve root that causes plantar flexion...dangit! These always stump me. L4 affects the quadraceps. No sugar?

Tim...while studying I would always come across this question:
L4 I would point to quad
L5 I would walk on my heel
S1 walk on toes....
Walk around the house a few times doing this and you'll get all those questions! Good luck...adding the C feels sooo good!

Nicole, thank you! I think you just taught me something! The tricky part of this question is that both plantar and dorsiflexion are innervated by L5. The key to this question is to consider the nerve root: L4-L5 dorsiflexion, L5-S1 plantar flexion, and L3-L4 quadriceps.

I am totally (still) laughing at the Lennie and the bunnies joke...but I have that feeling you get when you are laughing at something so sad...yet so funny! I have a feeling I'm gonna bust out the laugh at random and inappropriate times today when it comes across my mind...thanks... Have a great celebration this weekend!

Heck yes! So excited for this movie! And I would probably want to meet Jim carrey!

This one is hard! I have so many favorite TV shows and movies it's hard to narrow it down. I'll go... Craig Ferguson, Reese Witherspoon or Ryan Gosling. Or Sandra Bullock. Or Colin Firth. Or John Krasinski. Oh, I'll just stop, I'm awful at this.

I LOVE reading your letters! They always brighten my day :) And I love how excited you are and can only imagine the joy you and the Mr. have as he is graduating!

Makes me excited for the day my husband to be will be graduating from med school in 3 years! And funny part is I had that same idea about making "pill bottle" invites for his grad party! Great minds think a like!

Have a GREAT weekend!

It's B - i think because it affects different bits along your leg and ankle. (I read about it to answer the question I am that much of a geek!)

I think I commented and then it got deleted during the blackout.

Zooey Deschanel, Nia Vardalos, Joseph Gordon-Levitt or Ryan Raynolds
