{Fist Pump Friday!}

Friday, July 08, 2011

To kick off this week's photos we have University of Texas grads Em and Hailey pictured with six of their Young Life girls (Amy, Abby, Kendall, Bradley, Analise, and Alex, all Lake Travis Seniors). These chickies threw fist pumps and leg kicks after hiking 6 days with no showers, 50 lb packs, and 19 meals eaten out of the same cup. Bear Grylls would be so proud!

Next meet Erica's cousin Bethan visiting from England who threw fist pumps and leg kicks in Pebble Beach, CA after seeing the Pacific Ocean for the first time. Isn't the ocean magical?

Our next photo is of Lauren, Em, and Alex who've spent part of their summer teaching preschool kids with HIV/AIDS in Benoni, South Africa. Throwing fist pumps was a little foreign to these cuties, but they definitely get an A for effort.

Next meet Melissa's son Andrew who was so excited after receiving a Wii for his 6th birthday he couldn't help but throw a couple of leg kicks to celebrate. Bet it won't be long before Mr. Miyagi starts recruiting this little guy!

Our next photo is of Michael, Julianne, Jonathan, and Lana who hiked near Opal lake in Pagosa Springs, CO. They threw fist pumps in honor of the great fishing, hiking, phenomenal pizza, beautiful mountains, and endless Aspen and Pine trees Pagosa Springs has to offer.

Next meet our friend's Adam and Jackie's 2 yr old little man Jake from Dallas. He threw fist pumps in honor of stuffing his boca with Tutti Frutti Froyo. (A man after my own heart).

Our next photo is of Mary, a teacher and missionary at an orphanage in South Sudan called Harvesters Reaching the Nations. She's pictured here with her students throwing fist pumps and leg kicks in honor of South Sudan's first independence day tomorrow!

Speaking of Independence Day, here are some of this week's FPF challenge photos! Meet Natalie and her family who celebrated the 4th of July at Smith Lake in Cullman, AL. These guys get bonus points for wearing matching family shirts (and for convincing the cutie grandma in the middle to throw a fist pump).

Next meet Bethany and her second cousin Page (student at Tennessee Tech University) who threw fist pumps and leg kicks on the 4th of July outside of their great grandpa's house in Hartsville, TN. Pretty sure those shutters are the shiz.

Lastly, meet Kristin's 4 1/2 year old daughter Abby from Moore, OK who threw fist pumps and leg kicks after crossing the Texas border on their 4th of July road trip to San Antonio. Welcome to the Promised Land, Homies!

A special thanks to all of you who participated in this week's FPF 4th of July challenge. Your photos were delightful! Next week's FPF challenge is to take a photo of you and your homies throwing fist pumps in a hammock. I know some of you spend more time in your hammocks than you do in your biscuits so start taking photos! (Of course all other entries will be accepted).

To participate in FPF, send a picture of you and your friends throwing fist pumps and leg kicks to em{at}todaysletters{dot}com ... it's just that simple.

I showed Andrew and he said "Mommy did you give that picture to someone else?" I told him yes and he said, "Get it back please!" So cute! Thanks for including us!
