{Husband's Letters: KAW100 Race Edition}

Husband's Letters: Dear River Princess, can it really be? Are you really going to paddle 100 miles down the Kansas River? I know I say this all the time, but you are the BRAVEST woman I know. Dear Ground Crew Duties, I'm a little nervous about the lack of sleep we'll be getting and all of the checkpoint details to remember. Will we be able to do it all with joyful hearts, strong bodies, and sharp minds? We have no choice because the life of our Little depends on it. Dear Yellow River Rocket, it was nice knowing you but you have found a new home in Louisiana. I can only hope the new owners will be able to enjoy you as much as the girls have. Dear Emma, out of all of these race items your cheat sheet is my favorite. You color-coded everything like you do the clothes in your closet.

Love,
Mr. Loerke

PS, we ask that you pray for the Moore family as they grieve the loss of Dr. Ryan Moore (age 36) who was supposed to compete in this weekend's KAW100, but tragically drowned on Friday while paddling on the Kansas River. Please pray for his wife, young daughter, and for the safety of all the paddlers participating in the KAW100 this weekend. We'll be sure and post more information about the race before we leave tomorrow morning.

Emily Loerke is the bravest woman I "dont really" know. ^_^ Good luck!

I was with Mikey Pops when he heard about the drowning. Concerning moment for sure. Ive been keeping Dr. Moore, and all other racers in mind the past few days. And I don't think I'll stop praying for them until the race is over!
