It's finally here! After 6 months of planning, fundraising, and training our kayak race is finally here! Tim Tam and I leave for Manhattan this morning and look forward to seeing family, friends, and meeting some of our readers from the great state of Kansas.

Here's what you'll need to know if you're interested in coming to support the paddlers at the race.

RACE INFORMATION:
Race Start (Manhattan, KS): Friday, July 22nd @ 5:30pm Linear Park, Blue River Access (parking is limited so park in the designated area on the north side of 24 and walk under the highway along the trail back to the park).
Race Finish (Lawrence, KS): Saturday, July 23rd Riverfront Park ... if I average 5mph I'll finish around 1pm. If I average 4mph I'll finish around 6pm. (Kent, Em & Branch will be here!)

TRACKING:
The best way to track my progress will be on THIS WEBSITE. I'll be wearing a Spot Tracker so you can watch my "dot" move. If you don't see it moving this means I'm A) taking a 20 min nap on a sandbar B) eating a cheeseburger or C) tuckered out and in need of your prayers and a cold beer. You can also check the OFFICIAL RACE FORUM for updates made 24/7 during the race.

TWITTER:
The only way you'll be able to see race photos and get updates in real time is to follow me on Twitter. Unfortunately, internet is spotty along the race course so we won't be able to post updates on the blog.

DOCUMENTARY:
We had hoped to have our short documentary finished by now, but with our recent change of events we still have some editing to do. We will work on getting this finished after the race! In the meantime, you can check out this short video (complete with cicada symphony) expressing our gratitude to all of our sponsors. We couldn't have done this without your encouragement and support!

This is going to be SO much cooler than those wimpy "dot races" at the ballpark! Will have to find some wifi to do some late-night "yak trackin".

Em, I am so proud of you.

Tim, you are one of the most awesome examples of a Godly husband I have had the joy of encountering.
