Husband's Letters: Dear Mrs. Loerke, lately you've managed to cram our entire life into a 2" notebook. You have our grocery lists, emergency contacts, internet passwords, and probably secrets to nuclear codes. I admire you for seeking to organize our life. Dear 40 Days of 100° Heat, some people are disappointed that you stopped just a day short of beating the record. I am not one of those people. Dear Brandon Avance, this weekend you and your buddies climbed Mt. Rainier. In true Texas fashion, ya'll are my heroes! Dear Emily Richmond Loerke, you've loved me so well these past couple of weeks. There aren't many who would persevere as much as you have to help me face the thorns in my life. Thank you for encouraging me to be the man God has called me to be.

Love,
Mr. Loerke

Who is your biggest encourager? PS, remember awhile ago when Em asked if you knew of anyone living in Paris who could help find our friend Julie a place to live? Well, she ended up being featured on HGTV's show, "House Hunters," so be sure and set your DVR's to record Julie's episode THIS Monday, August 22nd!

My Mum and Dad :) They rock!

My Dad once came to a dress rehearsal of my assessment at university because he couldn't make the actual performance - my friends thought it was strange that this guy was sat at the back only till I pointed out that he was my Dad and then they thought it was really sweet - I think it made my year especially as Mum and Dad were both often busy and I wouldn't invite them to my performances in case they then felt under pressure to be there but had other stuff that needed to be done.

There are multiple people in my life that move me forward. Some are a few close friends, your little brother included in that short list. As well, my stepmother helped me shape into the person I am today and has given me the power to make up for lost time, reminding me that I can always further improve myself. My father encourages me by his hardworking example. YOUR father, Michael, is there to listen and help me remember what I want out of life, and for that I am so grateful to have him around when I can. And lastly, God and all the people at my Church continually show me new paths to consider, and give me a sense of community and purpose. All of these encourage me in some different way. Without them, I wouldn't be where and who I am.

Husband, hands down. Mainly because he likes to encourage big and small.

ex: "Babe- I have never seen someone stir pasta that well. You should be a chef."

I'm convinced his encouragement for bigger things stick better because of all the little ones.

I'm a newish reader to your blog, and I knew there was just this glow, this Godly joy about you two. When I read Mr. Loerke's comment about being the man God called him to be, I just smiled. You guys radiate Christ's joy, whether you are speaking of Him or not. Good for you.
