{Today's Letters & Reason #988}

Today's Letters: Dear Mr. Loerke, before we met I had never listened to "Fly Me to the Moon" by Frank Sinatra, eaten a Fletcher's Corney Dog, or ridden my bike over 90 miles. I love all of the ways you've inspired me. Dear Denim Dilemma, I'd rather eat meatwad (with a side of this wasabi) than go shopping at the mall. True story. Dear Pumpkin Scented Candle, after 48 consecutive days of 100° heat we finally folded last night and enjoyed you. (Insert serious Fall withdrawal here). Dear Timothy James, tomorrow night you agreed to split a meal on our hot date so that we can stay within our budget. Reason #988 why I love Thee. Over and out.

What is your favorite brand of jeans? I need to buy a new pair and I'm counting on all of you college Homies out there to help keep my from buying something with saggy bottoms.

I'm way past the "college homies" but i like American Eagle Boyfriend Jeans...I shop for them mostly on Ebay. love em!!!
Love love love Frank!!!

My favorite brand is probably Citizens of Humanity or Joe's Jeans . . but I like to find them at least a bit on sale. I've found that Levi's are more affordable and fit me well, too. If I care for them properly, my expensive denim has lasted years. And even then I just patch them. :)

i like gap (i like the skinny long and lean but it depends on your body shape of course--- they have so many choices) and you can find them on sale a lot. plus they aren't really really expensive to begin with. around the $60 range before a sale. some jeans can be SO EXPENSIVE. ridiculousness! hope that helps :)

Due to lack of butt, finding jeans that have crotches that dont end up by my knees is an adventure...and impossible. My favoritest part, though, is from TARGET. Comfy, cute, affordable, and delightfully denim.

I agree with Dede, I love the Boyfriend American Eagle jeans. Cheap, quality, and makes the heinie look fabulous.

I'm a curvy girl, and frankly I love the $18-20 Wal-Mart boot-cut jobs!

I've had some luck at Walmart as well...love the Long and Lean at the Gap (they're having a denim sale right now), but think next time I'll pay the big bucks and get citizens of humanity...I hear they're the best.

Good luck and God's speed.

I'm a shortie and I really like Old Navy's Jeans :) I wear "The Diva!" :)

I love the Gap. If you have a small waist, but wider hips like me, the "curvy" are great. And no saggy bottoms!

I'm an Old Navy kind of girl. I like them because I can get the "short" pair for flip flop wearing days and the "regular" for higher heeled shoe days and I don't have to get them hemmed, which is great for this shorty. And they aren't expensive.

I'm taking my hubby to Tillman's for his birthday dinner next week! I'm kind of dying for those s'mores!

I'm going to get on the bandwagon and say the Gap jeans are very reasonable (if you get them on sale.) Mine have lasted quite a while and have not yet begun to sag.

I like American Eagle and Banana Republic jeans, but I hear Gap and Target have great ones as well! Good luck.

Silver jeans are the best. My sister manages a store here in Denver. You would LOVE them!

so many awesome suggestions! keep 'em coming.

l, i've had a pair of seven's for almost 8 yrs and they still look brand new. everything i've bought from the gap or old navy seems to wear out after a year or so ... makes me think the nicer jeans are worth the benjamins. i just hate spending that much money on clothes! grrr ...

my fav's are H&M. i'm basically a 100% skinny jeans type so i don't know if that makes a difference in my recommendation or not! oh and pac sun has come through for me too. my current town doesn't have an H&M and pac sun has saved my shopping sanity.

I can't stand shopping for jeans. Nothing ever fits right and when they do, they are too expensive. However, I found that Maurice's has a great selection of jeans at reasonable prices. I like Taylor Boot Cut style. All I wear. Dunno if you have Maurice's in D-town.
(having some fall withdrawal too!!)

The Diva at Old Navy for sure! They are so comfy and flattering and affordable.

I have got to say, I love Banana Republic dark wash jeans :)

My favorite brand would be Citizens because they last forEVER, and they are made for girls with junk in their trunk or an athletic build. I dig it.

ps. NOT that you fit into either of those categories, but those are the reasons that I love Citizens.

Gap Long and Lean--best jeans ever, and I swear you'll wear a size smaller than you think! If you want skinny jeans, Loft has some great ones that are fitted in the hips/legs but looser in the waist to avoid the muffin-top problem. Love them too!

I love the way 7 jeans fit. I bought my first pair as a college graduation gift to myself in 2002 and they are still wearable! I also like Silver jeans. I buy almost everything online...sometimes you can find 7's on sale at Anthro and I have also bought them from HauteLook. Good luck!

Whatever brand you decide on, I'd look at Goodwill first. Often times you can find jeans that are cheap (duh) and still have the tags/haven't been worn. It's worth a shot!

Good luck!

P.s. Glad to know I'm not the only lady that doesn't like the mall/extended periods of shopping!

Nordstrom Rack has great deals! And great brands! I'm a big fan of Jolt jeans. They fit around my butt, but don't gap in the back around my waist!

Melinda said...

We'll I'm not a college hommie anymore, but the only two pairs I ever wear are citizens or 7's. They add alittle in the back, if you know what I mean. But I never pay full price. I know a few secret places you can find them cheap too. Let me know if you are interested.

My favorite pair of jeans is what that gal in the Meatbags ads is wearing OR whatever brand Halle Berry squeezes into.

I'm a big fan of Gap jeans. One pair lasted me a solid 6 years before I had to throw them out. As a friend of mine told me, "I think everyone likes Gap jeans. I've only ever known one person that didn't, and she happened to be crazy."

My vote goes to William Rast, whenever I wear them, people ask me what brand they are. Totally worth the Benjamins (I've had mine for over three years and have worn them approximately one beellion times....they still look great).

I've been wearing JCrew matchstick jeans for years and they've never steered me wrong. I'd go for a darker wash because it doesn't look dirty as quickly as others. They're a little bit expensive but most definitely worth the investment. However, all of my friends like Gap (though they cost about the same) and Old Navy. But based on my research, JCrew has held up the longest.

My advice may seem off base at first, but honestly the jeans at Charlotte Russe (skinny) are a great choice. They are usually around $29 and almost always buy 1 get the 2nd 1/2 off. You can walk out of there with 2 pairs for under $50. I have two pair right now (one light, one dark) that I bought when I first moved back to Tulsa in summer 2009. There are no holes, no tearing, not even of the hems. I have washed them and worn them all the time. They have just a bit of stretch material woven in, so even if they feel a tad looser than you like, throw them in the dryer for a few minutes and they'll spring right back!

Ugh - ixnay on the Old Navy. They ' grow' on me (not in a good way) - by day-end, they have stretched out enough to fall off. But I also hate belts, so that might be part of it. Anyway, I vote JCrew for un-curvy fit and Diesel for curvy. Pricy, but if you think about cost-per-wear, you want to invest a little more to get a decent return. Splurge!

I'm a big fan of Joe's Jeans or Citizens of Humanity. Yes, pricey! Check Nordstrom Rack and Saks Off Fifth (I think that is the name...whatever their outlet is). My sis owns a boutique in Missouri and she has some on sale right now, but who knows if they would fit?!?! My hubby works at WM. Email him if you want me to look at her store for your size.

I have no butt, and the only jeans that work for me are american eagle. WARNING they WILL stretch out. I always pick out the size that fits me, put it back, and get the next size(or two) down

Ann Taylor Loft's petite jeans are the best!

Seven for All Mankind do fit great as well as True Religion, William Rast, Diesel and Rock & Republic. It's definitely worth the splurge because they'll last a lot longer and the fit is really hard to beat. Plus you can ALWAYS find a good sale online!

I'm guessing that Pac Sun doesn't exist in Texas, but I love their jeans! They are affordable and fit great.

if you know what size you are in Sevens, you can find them cheap-o on Ebay!

Gap jeans are the best...especially from the sale rack!
