Today's Letters: Dear Mr. Loerke, I knew it was going to be a good day when I found this under our giving tree. Extra jazz hands for creative use of origami. Dear Halloweekend, Tim and I celebrated you with a costume party, ping pong tourney, and caramel apples. You were spooktacular.  Dear New Dishwasher, you are still sitting in our living room because of plumbing that isn't up to code. Thanks for reminding us that good things are just around the corner. Dear Tim Tam, even though we had an hour and a half long conflict this weekend I'm thankful for the way it strengthened our marriage. Conflict can truly make us better, not bitter.

Happy Freakin Halloween, Homies! How was your weekend? In honor of today, go here to read my favorite Halloween joke. Argh, Argh, Argh ... Also, starting next Monday we'll be hosting several giveaways on the blog just to say Thank You to all of our faithful, loyal, and encouraging readers. Get ready for Christmas to come early!

That is a silly joke but kinda funny.

My weekend was busy but I saw one of the girlies from the youth group get baptised - her Dad got up and said some bits in the service then her step dad got up and sang a song that she'd requested.

My friend's 6yo went to speak to the Pastor after church yesterday and I was stood at the end of the row of seats - the Pastor asked me to join them so I knelt on the floor so I was about same high as the 6yo. He's gave his life to Jesus a few weeks back and he was asking if he could be baptised because he wants to be on God's Team! HALLELUJAH!!! I was so excited so worth all the stress etc this weekend just to hear that he wanted to be on God's team and be baptised!!! YAY!!!! When were you baptised? (if you practice that kind of thing) I remember the date exactly like it was my birthday :)

Em,

I am so glad that you are real and honest on your blog. So many blogs are filled with happiness and wonderment - but in the real world...we have conflict with our spouses. It does make us stronger and I am glad that amongst all the posts that make us smile, you also post things that help us grow.

Blessings,
Heather The Great :)

a) drove a UHaul in the rainydark, b) had the outside-my-comfortzone pleasure of serving with the AV/tech team for our church's mid/high school Pine Cove Retreat, c) gained three new friends, d) had my heart beautifully ripped open by the worship leader's wife singing "Refine Me", and e) was reminded (many times over) that God loves me and has never/will never leave me.

forgot add...f) previewed the "She and Him" Christmas CD. I may just have to break my "no Christmas music before Dec 1" rule for this one.

I totally feel the same way about conflict. Of course, you try to fight fair, but I love that we don't avoid it like the plague b/c that was the case with my family growing up. If someone talked about something that could be controversial or conflicty my mom could change the subject. My hubs and I practice healthy conflict resolution (even if it takes and hour and a half or longer sometimes) and it usually ends with me wanting to make-out and def. feeling closer.
