Husband's Letters: Dear. Mrs. Loerke, lately I've been impressed with your bravery. You often remind me to grow in love for the people around me. Dear Blue Bell, I think your Pumpkin Spiced Pecan Ice Cream is the best of all of your seasonal flavors. It's like pralines & cream meets pumpkin pie. Dear Bon Appetit, last night we made your Cumin-Scented Quinoa & Black Rice. Who would have thought a vegetarian dish would have fully satisfied this meat-eater? Dear Emma, tonight we see Feist in concert. Thank you for never steering me wrong when it comes to music!

Love,
Mr. Loerke

Favorite seasonal ice cream = Peppermint Stick (Edys?) but not just out of the carton. First smash up a ton of Oreos, make them into a pie crust, fill Oreo crust with Peppermint Stick ice cream, back into the freezer for a bit. Yummo!

I think I also have to go with peppermint...I just can't help myself!

I dog eared that page in Bon Appetit too! If I can find black rice, I'll be making that very soon. Glad to know it was good!

Chocolate Covered Cherries by Blue Bell and of course, Egg Nog by anyone that makes it. A little whole cream over the Egg Nog helps to "make it a little richer" if you are brave enough to do it!

HAVE to try that ice cream! My cold headache thanks you!

My 5 yr old is in LOVE with Feist...It all started with her Sesame Street "Four" song. He said, mesmerized with a Squints Palledorous look, "Mommy she is BEAUTIFUL." The kid's got good taste!

Okay, that ice cream sounds divine. You already had me at the photo, but that combo of pralines and cream meets pumpkin SEALS THE DEAL!
Also, Feist? Your life is too good

Blue Bell peppermint. It only comes out around Xmas so my family buys several of them and we sit on our porch in Florida and eat a tub all by ourselves. It's glorious.

I lived in Texas for 6 years and to this day Blue Bell is still my one and only love. Nothing beats it! When we would have visitors in town we would take them to the Blue Bell Factory for free samples and a good time. Love it!

This post made me want to cry...we LOVE bluebell ice cream, and this one looks AMAYZING!! Unfortunately, we just moved to a state that doesnt sell Blue Bell anywhere...I didnt even know that was possible! If I had, I may have listed that as a major CON when we were deciding to move.... Hoping they still have it when we go home around Christmas! I do love the summer's blackberry cobbler as far as seasonal goes~

I'm all about some good old fashioned Peppermint. Sooooo yummy. The half-gallons are a bit dangerous for me, though, as I am the only ice-cream eater in the house...
