Husband's Letters: Dear Mrs. Loerke, last week I did one of my signature-salad-dressing-bottle-shakes. We laughed. We cleaned. I love you! Dear Life, I never consider the summation of all the great things I participate in until the load is too heavy to bear. Here's to simplifying you in 2012. Dear New Laundry Baskets, who would have thought a dude could get this excited about slam dunking his dirty clothes? You make getting ready for bed so much more fun. Dear Emma, last weekend you saw the Nutcracker for the first time in years. It was great to see your eyes light up as the sugar plum fairies danced and the toy soldiers marched. Someday we will bring our little ones to see this holiday classic.

Love,
Tim

Anyone else with me on simplifying in 2012?

For sure you belong in this family with shakes like that!

That mess is something my husband would make. He's known for exploding ketchup bottles and squirting food. As for simplifying...my life isn't that crazy right now since I just moved to a new city and am not involved in anything. We'll see how that will change in 2012!

I'd like to pose a question:

How can we best simplify 2012 when 2012 is loaded with more change/responsibility than 2011 (and you get overwhelmed easily...allegedly)?

I'm with you! Affirmations on the mirror work great! This will be on my mirror: Slow down. Enjoy this day God gave you with those you keep close. But also open your eyes and your heart to the blessing of those (acquaintances and strangers)who were placed on this planet to live this part of your lifetime with you.

Simplifying for the win! And exploring. I'm going to explore all over 2012. Best of luck streamlining.

I agree. Life was not meant to be a giant stress ball, but to be lived abundantly.

Side note: are those spice tins? If so, any chance yall remember where you purchased them? Would love something like that for my spices.

Thanks

Our nest is empty of our "little one" now. Amazing how simple life has become since he flew off to college! Now we, in our 25th year of marital bliss, are seeing our beautiful city (SF) with new eyes. We bought a cabin in the woods and plan on retreating there as often as possible to simply "be".

I'm definitely attempting to simplify my life in 2012! The simpler the better, right?
