{Santa Hat Brownies: Tips & Tricks}

Thursday, December 15, 2011

Have you seen these cute Santa Hat Brownies on Pinterest? My sweet friend Julia taught me how to modify the recipe so they don't take as long to make!

Instead of making brownies in a pan and using a round cookie cutter to cut them out, just bake them in mini muffin tins. This will save you lots of time!

You can also use whatever brownie mix you like, but we went with Ghirardelli's Double Chocolate Brownies.  All you'll need is 1 egg, 1/3 cup of oil, 1/4 cup of water and voila! Brownie bites out the yang.

Next, use a can of Betty Crocker's White Cake Decorating icing with the ribbon tip if you don't have margin to make the recommended Homemade Mascarpone Buttercream.

We had so much fun making these for a Christmas Party last night and they tasted great! I'd love to know your favorite "go to" recipes for holiday parties. This recipe is another one of our favorites.

XOXO!

LOVE this! I don't have a mini muffin tin pan, but they're super super cute!
I love cookies, and am looking for a great cookie recipe today for a party tomorrow night. Might make these instead.

They would count, right?

I've made red velvet cookies 6 times this week already! (google: whipperberry red velvet cookies) The recipe uses a cake mix and white chocolate. Pretty color, easy, and delicious!

I made a version of these http://domesticatedlady.com/2010/cookie-pops/ this week, but I wanted kid-friendly so I skipped the sticks. Golden Oreos...dipped in milk chocolate...sprinkled with....wait for it...CRUSHED CANDY CANE. Then I died from The Yum.
