As an Italian from Arizona who enjoys your blog and rarely posts comments online anywhere, the lovely video has moved me to make 2 comments:
1. I grew up watching my Mamma and Nonna using a mezzaluna (half-moon) and use one myself...it is an incredible device for chopping and mincing. I love having little flecks of basil in pesto rather than food processoring it to death and ending up with what looks like pea soup!
2. Pesto is a "condiment of the Gods" and is great on hot pasta and cold pasta salads but also tiny dollops of it in mayonnaise, a bowl of soup and dressings really transform those.
Over and out.
