Husband's Letters: Dear Mrs. Loerke, this past week we ran together three times. Working out with you is one of my favorite things to do! Dear 6-Day Staycation, thank you for reminding me of the peaceful moments brought by a good book. Hoping to implement more of you in the days ahead. Dear Butcher's Son Food Truck, your Reuben brat and lime fries were by far the best food we tasted at Food Truck Friday's. Thanks for making the Park Lane parking lot the place to be for lunch in December! Dear Emma, I can't believe our blog will be two years old in April. I think we should celebrate with malts and a new yard game.

Over and out,
Tim

Did you read any good books over the holidays? I read "Lone Survivor" (a true story about the only survivor of Navy SEAL Team 10). Now I have fighting dreams and want to be a Navy SEAL. PS, Em updated our "Best of Dallas" list with our food truck recommendations. You can check them out here!

A holiday staycation sounds like a great plan! Hubs and I hope to do that next year. As it was, we had a mini trip home to visit family and then a few days here to ourselves to celebrate New Years. As we're newlyweds that seemed the best compromise to make for our first Christmas together. I've been reading an old Jane Austen classic while we're here, it's perfect for winter!

funny!
just finished reading 'Livingstone's Tribe: A Journey From Zanzibar to the Cape' this holiday.
Was really enjoyable, and although you want wake up wanting to be a Navy SEAL-you may like it as the author spends quite a bit of time in Uganda (although it is a bit dated)-he spends time/writes a lot about Fort Portal (which should be high on your list of places to visit if you have time).

I finished Sweet Like Sugar by Wayne Hoffman, which was phenomenal.

Lone Survivor is one of two books my "hard to convince reading is awesome" boyfriend has read! I've read it too, and found it to be so inspiring.

And a reuben brat? sounds like a dream come true!

My friend's husband is unfortunately one of the men we lost that day in June. She hosts the Danny Dietz Memorial Roping in College Station, TX each summer. If it's not too far, you should definitely check it out!
