Husband's Letters: Dear Mrs. Loerke, lately I've had a lot on my plate but you've helped me regain a right perspective when we talk on our runs. Thank you for pointing me towards truth. Dear Emma, remember our trip to Alaska to celebrate our 5 year anniversary? We were the youngest people on our cruise by 20 years, but we had so much fun. I love your adventurous spirit. Dear Medical Spanish, I can only help our Spanish speaking patients so much with my broken attempts to communicate. I'm looking forward to one day saying more than, "Hable mas despacio por favor." (Speak more slowly please). Dear Little (who got 3 letters today), love you more than hanging in our Kammok on a Spring day, paddling at the lake on a Summer afternoon, camping with you in the Fall, and watching it snow on a Winter night.

Over and out,
Tim

If you could speak any language in the world what would it be?

Whoa I thought "Little" was some sort of announcement! ;)
I'm new to the blog - forgive me!

I wish I could speak Swedish! Such a beautiful country and a fascinating language. I will hopefully study in Sweden for a semester next year to get to know the country and to learn the language.
Have a great week :)

I think Spanish would be useful, but I really want to learn Swahili.

German or French would be most helpful as I work in an office that covers Europe and I have to ask Do you speak English at least once each day (it's not good!)

Tu parle anglais? Sie sprachen englisch? Parla inglese?

Polish would be good to because we have a growing Polish community in our church but at the same time apparently it's kinda complicated in comparison to English - it might be easier to learn Russian.

I think that Hindi is just about the most beautiful language to currently exist on Earth.

I'm learning Spanish currently, but I really want to learn Arabic. It's got this strange place in my heart, but I don't think I'd ever have an opportunity to use it besides the mission trip I went on three years ago!

I would like to revive my French since I already have a good start, but really I'd rather learn either Italian or Arabic. Preferably both.

I want to learn Greek....it would be a hard process but very worth it!

I'm learning Russian and desperately hope that I've got the stick-to-itiveness to get to fluency. I'd like to brush up on my Spanish (which has taken a major back seat to Russian), and some day would like to learn a regional Turkic-family language that is also spoken in Russia (by a lot of my friends there). I'd like to at least better-understand Ukrainian in order to better enjoy one of my favorite bands (Okean Elzy) and also just about any Central Asian language for the culture.

Some friends and I were discussing what we would wish for should we encounter a genie. I decided that I'd want to be able to read, speak, write, and understand every language ever.

But, if I had to pick one, it'd be Spanish. Finding a job would be SO much easier.

I think Spanish definitely would be useful, however I love Sign Language! Not really a spoken language, but a language nonetheless!

I'd like to learn Spanish, since it could be spoken fairly often! Short story - my boyfriend and I just got back from the Dominican so we were really able to practice and learn from the locals. When I asked him to whisper sweet nothings to me he responded with "nada...nada...nada" in his sweetest tone. We were cracking up!

I live in Indonesia, and sort of speak Indonesian, but I wish I was a lot better at it! I also love Ethiopia and would love to know Amharic!

I have just stumbled upon this blog thanks to Pinterest. My Currie (my husband) and I are starting a metal box, the weekly questions, and the journal. We are def. excited about these new things. I was wondering though, how y'all did the journal? Does one of you keep it for a week and then hide it or do you hide it to trade back and forth just whenever you feel? Just curious. Thank you guys so much for all you do and the example you set.

anony, that's exactly how we do it! we try and pass it back every week but typically it's every other week (meaning we both write in it 2 x's a month). so glad you're starting a journal, the questions, and a metal box! won't be long before you start seeing the fruit of intentionally pursuing each other.

So roughly how many entries do you have each week? Just whatever comes out?
