Husband's Letters: Dear Mrs. Loerke, remember when we had $200 to our name and spent our honeymoon in Gruene, TX? Looking forward to going back next month to celebrate our 7th anniversary together! Dear Days & Nights, lately I've been getting you mixed up. So grateful to be working the 8a-8p shift this week. Dear Anich, you gave me a new found respect for pilots after giving me my first flight lesson from Kampala to Arua. Landing on dirt runways is quite the adventure. Dear Emma, your growth in spontaneity continues to encourages my heart! Thank you for random lunch dates and trips to In-N-Out for chocolate shakes.

Where did you spend your honeymoon? Would you ever go back?

We drove to Harwich then got the train to the ferry terminal then got the train from Hoek Van Holland to Amsterdam.

I would most definitely go back but I'd take a phrase book with me instead of trying to find one in the train station (where everyone speaks Dutch and no one speaks English or so it seems!)

It would be nice to take Our Sidekick one day but for now it's too complicated to take him out of the country.

We spent our honeymoon in Jamaica. I would go back to the island but not necessarily the resort. My heart broke for the people of Jamaica on our drive to and from the airport. We would love to go back and possibly do some mission work with the people there!

We went to Riviera Maya, and then went back in October for our 3 year anniversary and came back with a baby in my belly :)

I love Gruene, TX. Lots of family memories there.

Our honeymoon was a mission trip to Guatemala. It was wonderful. We made some great friendships, saw lives changed, and also had time to tour a coffee plantation and watch the sunrise over the volcano. Was great!

Will go back for sure, our church takes many trips there yearly.

My husband used to be a police officer so he only had a few days off, so we actually went to San Antonio...not TOO far from Gruene. :) We love San Antonio!!! We've gone every year since we've been married, which we just passed our 2nd anniversary, so we've been 3 times. We went to Gruene right before our 1 year anniversary and loved it! Hope y'all have a good time there again!!!

My husband and I got married in the Texas Panhandle and drove to Taos/Sante Fe for our honeymoon. We stayed at the most amazing bed and breakfast in Taos (La Posada de Taos) and would go back in a heartbeat! Sigh.

I think we had even less than $200 to our name, so we drove 18 hrs. to Cali to use some free tickets to Disney Land! haha I wouldn't trade it for the world.

Honeymoon? We were both laid off 3 months before our wedding, so we got married while on double unemployment. Two days before the wedding, I got a job offer & I had to report for my first day of work the morning after our wedding at 7:30 am! (I told them I was getting married the day before, but they didn't care.) My husband ended up having an interview at the same company an hour later, and he ended up getting hired there too. 3 years later, we've gone on trips, but always with others, so not exactly a honeymoon. Maybe we can squeeze one in before our 5 year anniversary!

This past October, my hubby and I took a roadtripping honeymoon from Cleveland, Ohio (my hometown/our wedding location) to Dallas! We took a week and stopped in Ohio's hill country, St. Louis, and Eureka Springs, AR - loved each stop and we plan to go back to Eureka one day soon :-)

We were blessed to spend our honeymoon in Fiji...oh and how amazing was it!! So peaceful! My favorite part was a day long hike up a crazy-hard-awesome trail to see three different natural waterfall pools and swim in them all! I hope we can save to spent an anniversary there someday in the future!

We spent our honeymoon in Iceland. Best. Decision. Ever.
We went in the first week of May and the weather ended up being more beautiful than our poor family had back in Canada.
We also got to see the volcano erupting (and had an unfortunate (not) 36 hour delay to get home).
Iceland is one of the most beautiful places I have ever been. Go there!

We drove to Pigeon Forge, TN and at first glance were turned off by the hokey downtown. HOWEVER, the cabin in the mountains with rocking chairs on the porch & the little bakery we visited daily, not to mention the time together, made it the perfect place for us. I would TOTALLY go back there and think our ten year may be a good excuse to do so. We, like you, are celebrating seven good years this summer!!

My husband and I honeymooned in Pigeon Forge, TN too! We were married in October 2010 so we got to see the fall trees at the peak of their colors. It's absolutely breathtaking at that time of year. We went back to the same cabin for our one year anniversary and are hoping to go back again this year :).

We went to Gruene about 6 years ago and LOVED IT! Wish we had had more time to look around.

For our honeymoon we went to Mackinac Island in Michigan. It is a nice, laid back place to go.

We spent our honeymoon at Six Flags Over Texas! That was 34 years ago next week. This year we are going to Vegas to see Rod Stewart.

We went to Chicago at Christmas time. It was only 4 days but the gentle snowfall, the Christmas lights, seeing "A Christmas Carol" and eating deep dish pizza...we'll go back. :)

My husband was on military leave so he was home for a week before the wedding and a week after. I didn't want to take him away from his family so our "honeymoon" was spent at his grandparents cottage for a few days. Thankfully, being a military family means I've gotten to visit a lot of places I've never been!

We live in Durango,CO. We spent our first night in Telluride, which was just a 4wheel drive road away from our wedding site. Then spent a week camping outside of aspen, marble and ending the week back in Telluride at the mountain lodge! It was super close to home, but so many awesome memories.

We hope to go back every year...august 27th will be our 1 year

We road-tripped from Salt Lake City (our home) to Lake Tahoe to Yosemite to Las Vegas and back. We got a little slice of everything in that trip. I would do it again in a second. But only if I got to go with the same guy. He's a keeper.

San Francisco - during meager financial times... it was thanks to the generosity of friends who threw us a Honeymoon themed shower that we could go anywhere at all! ;) Yes, we live in California so we'll go again!

I'm about to get married! A little over two months away. We both quit our jobs and we're gonna go to Iceland and backpack for two months, and come back to finish up school. By the time it's over, we will probably have less than $200 to our name... but with a year of school left for both of us, plus a 2 year masters program after, we decided that this is the best opportunity we'll have for awhile to travel.
