{Husband's Letters}

Tuesday, June 12, 2012

Dear Mrs. Loerke, after briefly mentioning that I'd like to learn how to play the harmonica I found a Hohner Special underneath our Giving Tree. Your attention to detail humbles me. Dear Richmond Family, I want you to know how blessed I am by the way you love my wife. I see little snippets of you all in her and I know she wouldn't be the woman she is today without your influence. Dear Video Interviews, this week we get to sit in front of a camera and tell the story of our marriage. Here's to being strong, brave, and courageous. Dear Emma, you leave for Ethiopia in 29 days. I already miss you. Fact.

Over and out,
Tim

Who are you most like in your family? Em is a lot like her dad and siblings.

My cerebral side I get from my daddy, my social side I get from my mother. I'm told my sense of style, manners, taste in decor & love of order in the home come from my maternal grandmother who died when I was 6 mos old.

Oops! *paternal grandmother

My family never tries to impress anyone--I love that.

I'm like a little version of my dad. Except for the looks, obviously :D I absolutely adore him so I'm happy that my character resembles his. My mom influenced me more by the way they raised me than by the genes I got from here. I think that's a perfect mix.

I am exactly like my mother, despite all my efforts to not take on the bad traits. I can embrace only so many flaws before it starts holding me back.

I am quiet and neat like my Dad, quirky like my Granny, and a terrible story-teller like my Mom.

Timo, I see snippets of (you!) in the beautiful woman I call Emee Little Twinner Loerke-Richmond! You are the best man I know, full of all kinds of fun and adventure and insight. I am so lucky to call you family as well as my friend.

Ps. I figured you already knew this, but clearly I am most like Emee among the Richmond sibs... Love me some twinner!

I'm most like my Mum when it comes to being creative - like learning to crochet in one afternoon and then setting off to make a project (I'm making a blanket and I learnt to crochet two weeks ago lol).

At the moment we're making a hutch for the guinea pigs - this would be from my Grandad (mum's dad).

But my computer whizz kid skills are definitely from my Dad.
