{Gratitude} Lately

Thankful for the reminder that Mother Nature is the best decorator.

For thrifted Patagonia shorts and retired race horses that have room to run.

For child sponsorships and the lives they change.

For jet lag and early morning sunrises at The Ranch.

For the love of my life and how hard he works.

For simple breakfasts that satisfy.

For Farmer's Market cukes turned pickles.

For smiles seen for the first time.

For homemade honey lavender cake at 8am.

For pipes, patience, and Patagonia hats.

And for roasted corn that tastes like summer. So many good things! What have you been grateful for lately? Happy {almost} weekend, littles. Here's to gratitude and how it turns everything into enough.

A holiday with my boys. A week off from work to get some space and think. The opportunity to apply for a new job that will make me happier and less stressed (Well hopefully because I won't get told I suck all day every day - that's got to be better right!). My bestie is moving back to Bedford at the end of August I am so excited I might do a dance hehe. She's shadowing the pastor while she figures out what's next (she was in South Africa with YWAM for the last year and what she thought was the next step wasn't really the next step so I think she was a bit thrown by it all). Amazing friends! Both S (friend above) and HazelFairy have suggested about girlie bible studies - I am so blessed to have a group of friends who want to jump into God's word and have a swimming fest!

Your comment at the end of this post - about gratitude turning everything into enough - reminds me of a quote I read in Ruthless Trust: It's not joy that makes us grateful, it's gratitude that makes us joyful.
I love this post :)

So much to be thankful for! Definitely the sweet taste of summer found in corn at the farmers markets & picking my own black cherry tomatoes. Being celebrated by true friends who know what your thinking before you even tell them. Dreaming. Having people that wont stop dreaming with you.
More than white land cruisers & sleepy phone calls at made 1am.

For a canoe, a best friend, and blue-green mountain lakes. For the breaks in the rain that lasted exactly long enough for us to take down the tent. And for the hot shower when I got home. :)

Great post, Em! I love your words as much as your pictures. I'm grateful for the desire to simplify my life, in ALL regards. Your last line is exactly what I'm trying to do: turn everything that comes my way into ENOUGH.

Thanks for the reminder :)

my day was filled with gratitude-gratitude for being in my little farm house with the windows open, gratitude for being able to spend a day cooking good food, gratitude for watching my kiddos play together, and gratitude for the peace all of the above brought me. it was a good day.
