{Homemade Peanut Butter Dog Biscuits}

Sunday, August 05, 2012

Over the years I've tried a handful of different dog biscuit recipes, but this one is by far my favorite. Here's to doing something special for the only thing on earth that loves you more than you love yourself!

Ingredients:
1 Cup Flour
1/4 Cup Oats
1/4 Cup Unsweetened Shredded Coconut
1 tsp Baking Powder
1/2 Cup Creamy Peanut Butter
1/2 Cup Coconut Milk (or regular milk)
1 Tablespoon Olive Oil
1 Tablespoon Applesauce

Directions:
1. Preheat oven to o 350° and mix dry ingredients in a medium bowl.
2. Mix wet ingredients and add to the dry ingredients until well combined.
3. After kneading dough into a ball roll it out onto a piece of wax paper until it is 1/2" thick.
4. Use a cookie cutter to cut out biscuits and place them on an unlined baking sheet.
5. Bake for 20 min and let cool on a cookie rack. Store in an air tight container for up to 2 weeks. Woof.

Oh wow- lovely! We have two (childrens) I mean yorkies that would LOVE these... I have a bone shaped cookie cutter that would work beautifully with these!

candace & robyn, i have one but it's so big that the biscuits often break or lose their shape when transferring them to the baking sheet. they def look cute, but i've discovered over the years of making them that smaller treats are easier to carry in your pocket, as well as store better in mason jars :)

mmr, let's do this together sometime! we'll listen to I&W's #theshepherdsdog

I've been looking for a good dog biscuit recipe to try out, thanks! And these sound so good I'd actually eat them, LOL! My husband actually tries most of the treats that we get our dog, they're safe for humans and normal ingredients just really bland.
