{Husband's Letters} San Juan Edition

Dear Em, You left me speechless in New Mexico because of all the fish you caught. I know you would never tell anyone, but you caught 24 and I only caught 8. You're UH-MAZE-ING!!! I'm also convinced you're part trout. Dear Don the River Guide, You taught me many things. One being to stand vertical in a rain storm so my pants stay dry. Most importantly, you reminded me to ask for my wife's forgiveness when I cross my line with hers, and that fishing is more about being patient and grateful than it is about landing a big catch. Dear Abe's Fly Shop & Motel, Can't wait to come back next year! You were the perfect place to rest our heads after a full day on the river. Dear Mrs. Loerke, you were quite the trooper being the only girl on this 3 guy trip. Know that I'm proud of you and blessed to be married to a bad ass fisher-woman!

What has made you proud about your spouse/significant other lately?

My hubs and I are facing tremendous trials and his prayer before leaving for work this morning humbled me, encouraged me, and made me glad I married my brave and trusting man 19 years ago.

Ben taught his first class on Thursday. Hearing about his students & his plan for the semester made me proud.

My fiance has made me so proud lately! He had a bad check-up at the doctor recently and has really committed to eating better, exercising, and taking his meds. His new-found strength is inspiring and is encouraging me to better myself alongside him!

My boyfriend just started law school last week. He's working so hard to stay on top of everything already, since we already know it's just going to get harder. He inspires me every day!

My husband has the gift of story telling and I love to see how naturally it's incorporated into teaching middle schoolers the Bible! He is my favorite teacher to listen to and he really gets the kids engaged! I'm so proud of the way God is using those gifts to change the lives of young people!

My hubby planned, decorated and grilled out in the pouring rain for my 30th birthday bash. He is more if an introvert and not a natural party thrower, so stepping outside of his comfort zone to make me feel so loved made me so proud of him too!

I'm proud that my boyfriend called the doctor and made an appointment for his tonsillectomy....even after watching 'embarrassing bodies', gave him the shakes!

I didn't know it was possible to stand NOT vertically.
Anyway, you guys make me want to go fishing!

My hubby is a full time, first year resident... Lost his best Buddy from high school a few weeks ago, tore his ACL last week and is still so selfless that he cleaned the entire house today to help me! What a guy!!
