{Husband's Letters & Our Next Adventure!}

Wednesday, October 17, 2012

Dear Em, Last week I went to Louisville by myself. My intention was to explore the town and interview for a job. I left Lou with much much more. Dear Ryder Roberson, You are a stunning Weimaraner who likes food as much as I do. Next time I'll save you more Graeter's pumpkin pie ice cream. Dear Dudes of Lou, We fished for trout, ate at the best restaurants, and played basketball till our old-man ankles hurt. Happy to have been a part of your posse last week. Dear Mrs. Loerke, I've got an idea. Let's move to Louisville ... like for real! We could even make it happen before February. You wanna??

It's true. Em and I are moving! We've called Dallas home for 10 years but believe it's time to continue our journey elsewhere as we think about expanding our family. After interviewing in both Asheville and Louisville, we feel led to call the Bluegrass State home. Em is still trying to nail down a job so if you have any suggestions or leads be sure and send her email! Here's to soon living in the 40206. Can't wait!

Congratulations on the move to Kentucky! I have lived here my whole life and I love it. I hope that your time here is absolutely wonderful! Also, when you get a chance, visit Red River Gorge/Natural Bridge State Park and eat at Miguel's Pizza. Seriously, they have the best pizza ever.

WOW! I started reading your blog when I lived in Virginia, now I live in California...yet I still cannot see Texas without the Loerkes--and I don't even live there! Isn't that like Dillon without Riggins? ;)
Welp, you made it into my journal #prayingforyall

Yay! You guys are moving to my state, I love living in Kentucky. Louisville is such a great city, and Kentucky has so much to offer, rock climbing at Red River Gorge, the wild cave tour at Mammoth Cave, a basketball game at Rupp Arena (I'm partial to UK), and the original Kentucky Fried Chicken restaurant outside Louisville, you will love it! Best wishes.

Oh wow. I think you will like it there. That is my hometown. Going back to visit November 10th. If you need any suggestions for anything just ask. Maybe I will meet you before you leave. My family also attends that great church pastored by Wags :) Don't know what type of job you are interested in but Northeast is a great church. It is off of Brownsboro. Some good places to eat are definitely Ramsi's, Irish Rover, Wicks Pizza, Veranese, North End Cafe, Cliftons Pizza, Maido, Bourbons Bistro,Nancys Bagel Grounds,Pats Steak house and Days Coffee and Sweet Surrender for desserts. As you can tell, I love to eat. Restaurant are sort of my gift. Finding the perfect one for any occasion. Food is my mission lol. Anyways, like they say in Louisville..."Keep Louisville Weird" : )

Louisville is a wonderful place! It had been my home for 24 years until the job search took me out west. Sounds like you'll be in St. Matthews. Eat at Simply Thai, enjoy Cherokee Park, try a different hole in the wall restaurant on Bardstown Road or Frankfort Avenue every weekend, and enjoy the Crescent Hill Public Library. Also the Trolley Hop is great fun! First friday and last friday of every month. Hop on and off the trolley all night and it will take you to different art galleries around the city. I just came across this blog via pinterest, so I don't know what your wife does, but I volunteered with Kentucky Refugee Ministries. It blessed me tremendously both before I got a job and after. Blessings!

We just moved from Kentucky (Newport) to Texas (Dallas). You could not be moving to a more beautiful place. Definitely consider a historic home if you are in the buying game. There are some incredible ones in Louisville.
