Fletcher's Corny Dog: A State Fair MUST!

Fried Red Velvet Cupcake: Best DESSERT at the fair this year. Final answer.

Fried Mexican Firecrackers: Best SAVORY treat at the fair this year. Final answer.

Fried Jambalaya : Tastes like an onion ring filled with sausage and rice.

Picnic On A Stick {Fried Chicken, Tater Tots & Pickles}: Tastes like a Spicy Chic-Fil-A Sandwich.

Fried Kraut Balls: Least favorite thing we tried. Should have known by the name. Seeeek.

Deep Fried Bacon Cinnamon Roll: Perfect balance of sweet and savory.

Tornado Taters: Tastes like a well-seasoned starchy party in your mouth.

Fried Snickers : Taste = 10. Presentation = FAIL.

Fried Pizza : Tasted like deep fried marinara. Meh.

Fried Butter: Bite into these carefully. You've been WARNED! {Insert buttered biscuit explosion here}

Last night Tim and I spent the evening with friends at the Texas State Fair. We look forward to it almost as much as Thanksgiving dinner! Above are some of the good {and not so good} things we ate. What's your favorite thing to eat at the fair? Happy Thursday, friends!

Presentation = FAIL. Ha, true story. Looks awful. Sounds fantastic though...

I love your commitment to the Texas state fair. That food all looks sickly delicious. Fried snickers might be the tastiest things ever.

Oh yes. Thank you. I'm a Texas State Fair enthusiast. Making trip 1 of 2 on Saturday and I'm so glad I know what I should try now!! Thanks! Fist pumps for Big Tex's 60th, bird shows, new cars, and of course, Fletcher's!

So ready for a weekend at the State Fair! I will be trying the fried red velvet cupcake! (I can feel my arteries clogging now!)

I got a fried twinkie last year and thought it just tasted like a donut! I want to try the fried guacamole!

Love the fair!! Went last night with my love. Favorite thing: roasted corn on the cob (because it is dunked in butter). Least favorite thing: fried Thin Mints. Kind of tasted like fried toothpaste, and I even love Thin Mints! Wish I was in Texas to try the fried red velvet cupcake!

The deep fried snickers is my new favorite...I downed the whole thing single handed at the Iowa State Fair (sorry, but it is the best state fair)

Y'all need to come to the Iowa State Fair and go through the checklist of some 30-odd foods on a stick! I've never made it through the whole list (and since I was diagnosed with celiac disease this year, never will). Worth a try for the brave of heart and strong of stomach! Deep fried butter, anyone?

I didn't even know there were that many fried foods! That bacon cinnamon roll sounds freaking amazing.
Also, we got another letter from abdiel today. It made my spirit happy, thought it might make yours too. :)

I came all the way from Maryland to go to the Fair this year! LOVED it. The incessant rain couldn't hold me back. Chicken Fried Cactus for the win. Deep Fried Tres Leche cake for the not-so-much.

Our friends went to the fair last weekend and couldn't find the Red Velvet cupcake... We are going this weekend (boomer sooner!) and are dying to try it!! Any tips to point me in the right direction?

After looking at all the fried foods you went through (and giggling at some of those concoctions), I just have to say it's a good thing Mr. Loerke is in the medical field. You'll need his help in unclogging your arteries! ;)
