{Yosemite} Half Dome

“Yosemite Valley, to me, is always a sunrise, a glitter of green and golden wonder in a vast edifice of stone and space.” - Ansel Adams

We road tripped. We camped.
We hiked. We got wet. We were happy.
Yosemite was simply amazing. It was every bit as beautiful as Ansel described.
Can't wait to go back and summit Half Dome.
Rain forced us to turn around after hiking 4.5mi up the mountain.
We still had an incredible time, and everyone we met on the trail was the sweetest.
Yes to getting outside. Yes to time spent with dear friends. And yes to adventure.
Happy Tuesday, y'all!

I just wanted to say that I am really impressed you girls went camping by yourself...no husbands needed. I would never have the guts to do that!

Love the positive vibe of your blog. :)

Half Dome is amazing! You definitely need to go back. It started storming when we were at the top, so those cables down (and the rest of the descent) were pretty scary, but so worth it!!

So so so HAPPY we did this! It was amazing! Yes to going back!
More than unbelievable prints of the mountains & sharing bacon sausage egg hash next to a roaring outdoor fire.

Great pictures! My husband and I just hiked Half Dome at the beginning of October. Have you been before? I did a post about some of it, but it of course did no justice to what it was actually like - beauty wise, and physical hardship wise lol. I can't wait to go back and do it again (we've already decided it's a must!)

Girl- Just got home from being incredibly blessed by you and your husband tonight in Merge! We are serving for the first time this session & we're so glad because we loved your talk tonight. Can't believe it was your last, so sad, but so excited for your new adventure in Louisville! Also- we climbed Half Dome in August with our community group! What a trip. So bummed that the rain forced you guys to turn around... I highly recommend going back to summit!
Thanks again for sharing your hearts tonight with us!

I would love to know how you edited these. Do you mind sharing which actions you used? I read your FAQ about editing but I can never achieve this look with TRA. Thanks for your help!!

I'm from Mariposa, just outside Yosemite and I never realized just HOW special the park was until I moved away. Try to make it back for Half Dome. It's an incredible hike! I'd do it every week if I could.

Hi, this is amazing! Me and my hubs are trying to pal a trip this summer and i was wondering what camp site did you stay at? Did you stay at the one closest to half dome? I know this is probably a silly question! but i figured id ask some more details on the trip! looks beyond beautful!

steph, as far as half dome goes it's incredible! the best time to climb it is in the summer months (july-aug-sept). the cables were already down when we went in oct so we weren't able to summit. stay in the upper pines campground and try and get campsite 72 or 74 since it's close to the road. you can take the shuttle or walk to the trail head. highly suggest starting your climb at 4am so you can make it back before sundown.
