{Today's Letters}

Dear Mr. Loerke, Yesterday we reserved a 17ft U-Haul and a flatbed trailer to tow Griswold to Lou. Does this mean we're officially grown ups? Dear River, You like to chase your tail, hide tennis balls under the bed, steal socks out of the laundry, and pee on the couch. You're (still) good for me. Dear Christmas 2013, already looking forward to celebrating you. This year we'll be up to our necks in boxes drinking eggnog from the carton because I already packed our glasses. Dear Timothy James (who always gets two letters), Thank you for the note you left on my pillow. Pretty sure I snored louder than this dude.

Happy Thursday, y'all! Are you a procrastinator or do you get things done early? I've always been the girl who turned in her homework assignments ahead of time. Thankfully, Tim reminds me that life isn't a race.

I was the girl who would do her homework the day it was set. I'd come home and get on with it - some days I'd get distracted by my parents got me back on track.

If it was set in the morning I'd often get it done in the library at lunchtime so that I didn't have to do it when I got home lol.

Yeah I was a bit of a nerd too so I'd put in extra work - teacher wants one side of paper I'd write two. Teacher wants 5 sentences I'd write 10.

I haven't commented before, but I read your blog every day. I just LOVE the letters. Beautiful blog. :)

To answer your question, I am a protrastinator! I still have a pumpkin on my dining room table and no Christmas decorations are up! And no gifts have been purchases either. I am terrible!!

So glad River is in your life. As a girl who didn't grow up with pets, I didn't realize how good a dog can be for you until just over a year ago when we got our puppy. They are truly the most joyful and forgiving creatures...even though they would steal every sock in the basket if they could! My husband just did a research project on animal therapy (we are a social worker and counselor family) and found lots of proof of dogs lowing blood pressure, stress, and anxiety and causing longer life for people! How cool!

Sadly I'm usually a procrastinator and get things done last minute. I'm trying to get better on that and I have to say over the years I did get better. It was really bad back in middle school :D
So happy for you that you have River! I hope that one day I'll be able to have a dog again. They make the best friends!

You know. It's not fun for me unless I do it the day it's due ;)

I agree with Molly! For me it's not fun unless I'm under pressure : ) Unless it's planning parties...then I look to do it WAY ahead of time because I enjoy the creative process. I kind of envy you getting to drink out of the carton because your cups are packed...it shows how life can really be done very simply. And that "stuff" is just "stuff".

Praying for you, Tim and River!

It depends on my enjoyment of the task. But usually I am a do it way ahead of time person. Especially since our rule for our internship was early is on time and on time is late.
As for notes on the bed, I gave all my roommates during my internship a post it above their bed that has Proverbs 3:24 on it. "When you lie die you will not be afraid, when you lie down your sleep will be sweet. A couple years later a roommate text me to ask about the verse so she could put it above her bed again.
