{Gratitude} Lately

Thursday, February 28, 2013

Lately I've been thankful for chocolate and coffee for breakfast.

For thrifted sweaters and the warmth of wool.

For pulled handles and trimmed mugs.

For creaky hardwoods and sweet conversations on the floor.

For road trips and Airstreams found in old barns.

For bacon and bibs.

For snow days and time off from work.

For reclaimed barn wood and handmade dining room tables.

And for tree shadows and returning to cities that feel like home.
What have you been grateful for lately?
Here's to gratitude and how it turns everything into enough.
Happy Thursday, brave ones!

Love this post. Hell, I love your blog in general. It's funny, I've been thinking about things that I take for granted lately, the little things that I should be more grateful for. I'm grateful that for my sweet babies, I'm thankful that they are healthy, I'm thankful that I can afford to get quality tea, I'm thankful for my husband who works hard to provide for us, I'm thankful to have wholesome delicious food in the house, and for music and a computer to listen to it on. So much more, of course, but I don't want to write a comment that takes 10 minutes to get through. ;)

I'm so grateful you recommended "The One and Only Ivan!" A beautiful, well-crafted story that brought me to tears...I'll be passing it along to everyone I know!

I'm grateful for a wife who loves chickens, bees, gardens, coffee, thrift stores, good music, slow mornings, simple things, and hardware stores.

For family that moves in with their three kids who fill our home with laughter, for Nashville snow days, the anticipation of my hands in dirt planting green things, the hope of an adopted baby finding its home in my arms in September...and for my fav blogger to quote on my blog. :) Thanks Em!

Thankful for a hard workout so I can feel the strength of the body I've been given, a toddler that told me he loved me in the grocery aisle and reminded me what's important in life, for my four year old that just did the happy dance because she smells corn casserole in the oven, for good scan results for a four year old friend with evil cancer, that I've been married to my best friend for ten years and I still can't wait until he comes home each day....

For the lace scarf I am currently knitting, for the snow that has fallen...for the way the dogs run and romp through it! For friends far away that check in with me... And for the future bright prospects ahead of me... Thanks for reminding me to think of them...it makes me smile!

Thankful for God's perfect love, a faithful & loving husband, a 14 year old freshman with a bad attitude, warm & heavy homemade blankets (rest in peace, Grandma :), healthy & plentiful food in our house & rock n' roll.
