Dear Mr. Loerke, yesterday you, Tyler, and the pups returned from a two day backpacking trip at the Gorge. You hiked 12 miles, drank bourbon out of flasks, ate your weight in beef jerky, and came home with more chest hair. #proud Dear Neighbors, first free hostas, then flowers left on our front porch, and now a vintage bamboo rod? Living in the 40204 is humbling as sheet. Dear Summer, I think we were made for each other. Nothing reminds me of my 9 year old self more than lemonade stands, evening bike rides, and dirty garden feet. Dear Mr. Loerke, one of your greatest strengths is that you get excited about everything. I love this about you.

Happy {almost} weekend, brave ones! What's your favorite thing about summer? PS- if you're in web design and would be interested in giving our blog a new face lift email me at: em@todaysletters.com

Favorite things of summer are walking around bare foot, feeling the grass between my toes, vacation spent in Austria, lots of fresh produce on had at all times and spending lots of time at home seeing old friends and reliving old memories.

Long summer nights, watermelon, fire flies, picnics, bare feet in the grass, watermelon, swimming with the nephews and niece, fresh veggies from the Nashvegas farmers market, watermelon and evening walks with the hubs. Oh, and maybe watermelon. ;)

Some of my favorite things are fresh fruit and veggies from my garden, sitting and reading on the deck until it gets dark, and watching the fireflies.

MMMM..dream vacation is fly fishing! I see that we seem to travel in the same area (Blue Ridge, Red River Gorge) - did you use an outfitter to learn or did you learn from friends/family?

@hannah, tim and i learned initially by getting a guide on our anniversary trip to the hill country in austin. we both grew up fishing so the transition to fly fishing was a natural one!
