Dear Mr. Loerke, you trying to catch the chickens? BEST. THING. EVER. Dear Bees, this weekend we extracted a gallon of your honey. Thanks for working really hard so we can enjoy the fruits of your labor. Dear Front Porch, ready for achy shoulders and bowls of homemade honey lavender ice cream. The end. Dear Husband, praise the Great Lion of Judah for ladies who exercise at Cherokee Park with hoola hoops and for husband's who try and reenact them. You're adorable.

Happy Tuesday, brave ones! What's one of your favorite childhood memories? I loved spending summers on the front porch making homemade Oreo ice cream with my family. Worth every slow crank of the bucket!

Honey lavender ice cream sounds divine! I just made homemade ice cream with my parents, but we've only ever made vanilla...good with fresh strawberries!

Best childhood memory? Climbing our old cherry tree with my best friend trying to pick the few cherries the birds had left behind. Sadly, my dad had to cut the tree a couple of years back but the memories still remain :)
Happy Tuesday!

My family lives on the Gulf Coast so my summers were filled with walks to the beach, floundering after dark with cousins and bike rides through our sleepy town. Best. Childhood. Ever.

Wow! A gallon of honey! Impressively busy little bees! My fav thing to do with honey right now is, a scoop of Greek yogurt, drizzled with honey and cinnamon. Yum o yum!

Be careful, adult hooping leads to hooping obsession! Oh yes it does!

Best memory is walking barefoot with my sister and cousins to explore the woods around our Texas home. 120 degree Texas heat didn't stop us. Picked berries and ate them as we explored, climbed trees and played in creeks. My cousin died at the age of 18 so its a priceless memory to my sister and I. So. Much. Fun.

Making treasure maps. Dissecting a variety of insects with my science lab kit. Eating pie. Running in the sunflower field behind our house. Throwing my pops' reel in the river the first time he let me cast. Long back porch convos with David our family dog.
Oh ya know the usual girlie things

A gallon of honey just from this spring?! That's amazing! Last summer my husband and my then 7 month pregnant friend joined a hula hoop circle at the Bunbury music festival. It was hilarious and beautiful at the same time!
Fave childhood memory: coloring and playing on the porch during summer rain storms. The air smelled so clean and it felt like being in a fort, dry from the rain

do you have a recipe for home-made honey lavender ice cream? because it's sounds super yum.

My favorite childhood memory from summer has to be spending mornings swimming in the beach just a skip, hop and a jump from the big house we shared with our grandfather and great-grandfather, afternoons catching snakes and lizards in the big backyard, and evenings with my papouli (great-grandfather) cleaning up the vegetables he harvested from his own garden.

When I was little and living in Ohio, down the street from our house was the Sidney Dairy--the BEST handmade ice cream EVER. We would walk down there to get a scoop (mine was always in a bowl). I'll be traveling to Ohio in a few weeks to see my papa and you bet a trip to the Sidney dairy is on the agenda!

Favorite Childhood Memory: summers spent outside from 9am-11pm just being a kid...but hide-and-seek after dark with the whole neighborhood was hands down B-E-S-T!!

building forts in the rhododendron thickets. picking blackberries on uncle ray's farm. riding dirt bikes barefoot. swimming my horse into the lake.
new summer memory about to be made: driving cross country with your Twinner and Stella the dog. Camping and eating our way across the USA. See you in August

Best childhood memory: riding my old paint mare through the pastures, the grass high enough to tickle my knees. Best horse I ever had hands down.

And honey-lavender ice cream sounds absolutely amazing. I hope we get a peek at that!

Mmm...recipe for that honey lavender ice cream forthcoming?

Favorite summer childhood memory? Hard to narrow down, but how about collecting arrowheads and shells on the beach at Table Rock Lake; early morning bike rides with my bestie since 5th grade (and STILL!); barefootin' it everywhere!
