{Today's Letters} : Early Morning Edition

Monday, August 26, 2013

Dear Timothy James, your smoked brisket and burnt ends are worth your alarm going off at 5am to start the smoker. I officially crown you the Albert Einswine of BBQ. Dear Mornings, sometimes you are best started by listening to this song {#6}. Thank you John Lucas for the reminder that the darkest nights prove the light of morning. Dear Chickens, not only do you wake us up each morning at 5:07 but you also dig up the potatoes in our raised beds. What the cluck. Dear Beloved, after getting home from work at 1am you woke up early this morning for accountability and breakfast with a friend. So encouraged by you.

Happy Monday, brave ones! Are you a morning person or a night owl? {Insert both right hurrr}. Yikes.

I am a night owl who loves the morning. A juxtaposition indeed. Hate getting up but love quiet mornings spent listening to the birds singing as they begin their day.

Love that music! Thanks for sharing!

Morning person definitely. After 3pm, my brain is useless. After 9 pm, I get very silly from being tired.

I love my sleep and comfy bed, but I am a morning person! The hubs and I get up at 4 each weekday (definitely NOT weekend) to work out. I love his encouragement, even when I don't feel like making my muscles hurt in the dark hours of the morning.

By the way, the pictures of the brisket Tim grilled made me want to purchase a Green Egg right there and see what we could grill.

I think I can definitely be both a night owl and an early riser. Now that I have the babe, I definitely don't get those slower lazy mornings like I used to but man, the fruit is so sweet that I don't miss the old days.

I am naturally a morning person (meaning my ability to wake up early when needed is mostly effortless). My personality is better in morning than later at night. However, with my whacked out ER schedule, I become a night person. My body is confused most of the time.

Brooke Ellen, do it! It'll be the last grill you'll ever buy.

I am both :) But since my body and brain function better in the early hours of the day I try to get up at 6a and be productive. Unfortunately that means that usually my bed time is around 10p. Probably not normal for a girl in her early twenties but I like it that way :)
Em, do you not need a lot of sleep or how do you manage to be both?

I'm a night owl. Big time. unfortunately for me, I live in a house where everyone else is too and we keep each other awake until ungodly hours.

Have you tried covering your newly planted potatoes with chicken wire? I used this method over my flower bulb garden and it kept the chickens from digging up the bulbs.
