Dear Timothy James, yesterday Moll's caught me vacuuming our plants and this morning I organized all of your meat thermometers and BBQ gadgets into wicker baskets. What the hell is wrong with me? #pregnancyproblems Dear Charlie Brown, after cutting down our Christmas tree we A) had to pull over twice on our way home because it was hanging off the side of the car B) tried to stabilize it in the tree stand for over an hour before discussing if we should set it on fire C) decorated it with lights before realizing they were two different colors and D) knew you'd be proud. REAL proud. Dear Antique Hutch, it took 1 jigsaw, a chisel, 2 hacksaw's, a kitchen knife, and a glass of eggnog with bourbon to remove one of your shelves. Pretty sure this was preparation for childbirth. Dear Mr. Loerke, yesterday your grandma received our Christmas card in the mail. She thought I was wearing a wig. #classic #itoldheritwasaweave

Happy Saturday, brave ones! White lights or colored? We grew up with colored ones that always reminded me of this family.

Your Christmas card looks great! We've always had, and probably always will have, regular lights. And the ornaments all have the same color and shape. German tradition ;-)
Have a happy Sunday!

Where did you design your Christmas card? It's so cute!

Colored lights for sure. In total Griswold chaos. My hubby likes symmetry and everything must match - this goes against everything in me. We call it marital bonding exercises. :) Either way, we both love Christmas and tons of decorations. Love the card!

Color lights!! This year we have a white tree with color lights, and I love how every evening I feel like I'm living inside a rainbow.

Side note, I adore your Christmas card. :)

We stick with traditional white lights and keep it simple. I just love the way it reflects on clear glass ornaments!

And we went through the exact same thing with our tree stand! After an hour of fussing and unscrewing and rescrewing and holding back cuss words, we chunked the old tree stand and took a break. The hubby went on a bike ride to calm down, and I went and bought a new stand (a different type). We got the tree stabilized and straight on the first try. Go figure.

Normally I'm a colored lights kind of girl. This year I switched it up and went with white. I also picked myself up a pickle ornament!

Dear Em and Tim, don't think I've ever commented but I've followed your blog for a couple of years now. Hadn't caught up since early October and you've been on my mind lately so I thought I should check in. My feeling was right! I just knew I'd click on your site and find you preggers!!! I am ecstatic for you both! Congratulations! I just adore you both and I pray God's blessings and His peace over all THREE of you.;-) Everything in His time. I'm a momma of four littles including twins. It's going to be your greatest adventure!

We've lately gone with white lights, although we've had multicolored, blue, red, and green on previous years. I've always been of the opinion that couples who want to marry should have to put up a Christmas tree together first. (And take a road trip, and maybe also babysit children.) Happy Advent. :)

Gotta have a mix. White lights give the tree luminance and colored lights make it magical. My dad always strung one very bright strand of white lights right up the center of the tree and covered the rest with colored (but my husband and I go for a straight one-to-one ratio).
