Dear Mr. Loerke, last night when I shot out of bed at 3am with a leg cramp I was in so much pain I bit our curtains to keep from yelling the f-dash-dash-dash word. Thanks for being sweet and for making me laugh when I felt RIDICULOUS. Dear Seedlings, currently you are staying warm under a grow light in our second floor guest room. From the street it looks like the Harvest House be growin some wacky tabacky. Dear River, please don't eat our new rug. I promise it doesn't taste as good as your rawhide chews or deer antlers. Dear Timothy James, yesterday when I was working on the third floor you complimented me on my muscular arms. Then you said I had great veins but should never do heroin. Reason #283 why boy roommates are awesome.

Happy Friday, brave ones! What are you most looking forward to this weekend?

I used to get horrible leg cramps when I was pregnant (especially with my first). I woke my husband up many a night "biting the curtains" so to speak. ;)

Thought of you two today after watching a movie called Kings of Summer, because it reminded me of Moonrise Kingdom. Give 'er a shot!

You know what worked for me when this happened in my pregnancy... magnesium. It not only stopped the craps ASAP, but my nerves were calmed too.

Beautiful rug! I hope river does't like its taste!

I've still got that to come. I get them sometimes anyway so if I get them now I could be dancing round the room or something! It wouldn't be the first time that I've kicked Chris by mistake because of cramp - I think I even punched him by mistake too. Oops! Thankfully he's forgiving once be realised it was involuntary and I wasn't trying to beat him up! Have you tried eating a banana before bed? It sounds a bit silly but leg cramps are something to do low levels of potassium or something like that.

I woke up a few times with a legs cramps that hurt so bad but at the same time I could move them... really weird! After panicking trying to move and massage them my husband woke up and helped and to calm me down! I hope River can contain himself b/c that rug is awesome :)

My weekend has already begun here in Guam and I am looking forward to going through our house to get ready for our (pack-out in 2 weeks) move back to FL (in June) and a 4 wk trip home in about a month... busy busy busy!!

I had severe leg cramps with my first pregnancy. I learned - after the fact - I hadn't been drinking enough water. In fact, when you're pregnant, if you don't need to pee once an hour, you're not drinking enough. Sounds like a ridiculous-lot of water, but I gave it a shot this time and no cramps. Also had swollen hands and feet by this time every afternoon and evening with pregnancy one and this time, haven't swelled yet (we have 27 days to go!). Give it a try, I'm a believer now. Sort of inconvenient to hit the loo that often but I know the health benefits for me and Little are worth it.

Another tip on leg cramps, I know you have been given many. (Personally I like to hear what has worked for others to find what would work for me.) Anywho... my midwife taught me to flex my heel out rather than pointing my toe when the leg cramp started and it eased the cramp and made it shorter for me. I hope you find what will work best for you soon!
Blessings, mel
