Dear Timothy James, on Friday we sang Happy Birthday to Brave at 9:14am when she turned one week old. This was followed by a trip to the ER that ended with some strong medication and ice cream from Dairy Kastle. Thank you for supporting me physically both in pain and hunger! Dear Jack, t-minus 7 hours until you start blowing stuff up, chasing terrorists on rooftops, and saving the world all while wearing your satchel and Ray Ban's. Can't wait. Dear Motherhood, so far you've left me no choice but to shower at midnight (if at all), nurse in the middle of the kitchen floor (the couch was too far away), and cover my boobs in frozen cabbage leaves (no explanation necessary). You're. good. for. me. Dear Mr. Loerke, in honor of today being Cinco de Mayo this girl is bringing us Luchador for dinner. #agradecido

Happy Monday, brave ones! How many of you will be tuning into Jack and Chloe tonight??

Congratulations! Try and get a shower every morning, I swear it makes me feel so much more human and makes it easier to deal with the sleep deprivation. Baby goes in the rock n' play and comes into the bathroom with me. He likes the sound of the shower and likes to look at the shower curtain. I think it helps us all! You're doing great and everything gets easier!

Try lanolin of the nipples. Saved my life and breastfeeding experience.

I wanted to but it's on at like 1am or something a little crazy like that. I think I'll look it up tomorrow afternoon when I'm the only one home. Frozen cabbage leaves? Now that's one way to use them rather than eat them (yuck!)

Thanks Jess & Nina! Tim is getting good with his photog skills.
Meg, that's what I do w our Moses basket when no one is here to help with Brave.
Allison, I've been resting lots. The trip to the ER was bc my OB thought I was showing signs of pre-eclampsia or from an infection in my spine. I'm so thankfulto be feeling better!
Anony & Gan , I've been using it for the last two months! It's amazing! Cabbage leaves helped so much those first few days before my milk came in.

I swear it was 12 painful days before my breasts were used to Nora nursing. Then, it was pure joy! Hang in there, the best is just around the corner.

1. I love this picture so much.
2. I wish I lived closer and could snuggly sweet, squishy brave so you could get a shower that's not at midnight. :)
3. I missed Jack and Chloe last night to have dinner with a sweet friend (worth it!), but it's recorded to watch tonight. I'm excited!!
