{Today's Letters}

Tuesday, June 17, 2014

Dear Timothy James PA-C, this morning I found you sleeping here after getting home from working a 12 hour night shift. Your efforts to not wake me up was nothing short of admirable. Dear Cabela's Cashier, yesterday you asked if I was Brave's grandma. Yep. Aaaaand that's how you get a 34 yr old girl to ask for a bingo cage and Luby's gift card for Christmas. Dear Bravey Train, I get more diaper ointment on your feet than I do your bottom but you never complain. Thanks for being easy. Dear Mr. Loerke, St. Mary of the Pickle is spoiling us rotten. Looking forward to eating homemade pickles on pretzel bun burgers with you this summer.

Happy Tuesday, brave ones! Hope it's good to you.

I love your letters! Thank you for reminding me to be thankful for the small things! I also do my own version of these letters at times :).

Oh my goodness, I have to comment to say how crazy it is that someone would think you were a grandmother! I am dying laughing!! People are too funny (and some need glasses).

em, i have been meaning to THANK YOU for sharing your ever inspiring heart, mind, and personhood… i am so lucky to be your wombmate and friend.

ps. it's gonna be so rad when we're 80… that's when i'll take you to Luby's for meatloaf and sweat tea. until then, it's burgers and frites from Holy Grale all the way!! with a side of bourbon cortado, thank you.

love, bubbly

Re: grandmother comment -- seriously, what a ridiculous thing to say! You don't even have any grey hair! (I've had way too many grey hairs since sometime in my twenties -- finally decided to dye it after getting the "are you her grandmother" comment. I had my girl when I was 35.)

chattynatty, no, we buy them from a sweet old man who owns a candy / bread store just a few blocks away from our house.

brl, i need the reminder to appreciate the little things more than anyone! i can lose sight of the gifts when i allow myself to focus on tomorrow instead of being fully present in today.

anony & laura, i couldn't believe it! she actually thought my friend molly was my daughter. we both looked at each other and said huh?? too funny ...

dylann, #momlife ... #worthit

auntie bubbly, is that what you want brave to start calling you? i like it! i also like the idea of of you taking me to luby's for meatwad and sweet tea. can i wear my jammies?
