{Los Angeles to Portland!}

Tuesday, July 29, 2014

Today marks the beginning of our big West Coast adventure!
For the next 10 days we'll be driving from LA to Portland with these friends,
stopping at different places along the way to surf, eat, sleep, and fly fish.
I can't tell you how excited we are to be on vacation and hopefully meet some of you along the way!
Be sure and follow us on Instagram and Twitter for possible meet & greets.
And thanks to all of you who made suggestions of places to eat & things to do while we're in the PNW!

Hello from Nova Scotia,
I just was looking at your house projects and gardening sections and it reminded me of a house in Halifax where they made a gardening video over a whole year. It is quite dated but the yard is very similar to yours and it is quite inspiring as to how much could be grown in the backyard. We watch it every spring! This is zone 5 so a bit colder than you. God bless you and your family, Sue https://www.nfb.ca/film/my_urban_garden

I forgot to make suggestions....hope its not too late!

1) My house. Come over for dinner when you reach Portland!!

2) Sleepy Monk Coffee in Cannon Beach. Amazing brews and cool atmosphere.

3) Singer Hill Cafe in Oregon City (right outside Portland). They have the best coffee, cinnamon rolls, and living walls.

John Steinbeck museum in Salinas (Monterey) is sooooooooooooo well done and the downtown area it is in is so quaint. I'm sure there's a great coffee shop nearby.
