{Today's Letters}

Monday, September 01, 2014

Dear Timothy James, last night we roasted and canned garden tomatoes at 11pm. Because that's how we roll with a 4month old. Dear Brave, I often drop melted ice cream on your head when nursing you at night. This is why you smell like spoiled milk and Oreos. Dear Motherhood, I'm learning to accept the humble pie you serve me each day, like the fact that my best friend now tells me on the reg I have food in my teeth because I rarely have time to look in the mirror anymore. Or that cutting 6" off my hair was no big deal since it was all falling out anyway. Or that my neighbor who has officially seen my left boob through our kitchen window after giving Brave a bath in the sink is just a normal neighborly greeting. {Note to self: TUCK THE BREASTAURANTS IN}. I never imagined this would be my life when I got pregnant but I'm so thankful it is. Dear Mr. Loerke {who always gets two letters}, wake up wake up it's tha first of the month. Happy September sweet boy!

What are your plans this Labor Day? We'll be grillin, chillin, relaxin, and playing corn hole with friends. Can't wait!

You cut six inches off?! Fist pumps and leg kicks for being so brave! Now I kinda want to scream "I wanna see, I wanna see" ;-) I am sure you look as pretty as ever!
Today's our last day of our annual family vacation so we are soaking it all in trying to spend every second together and enjoying one last meal as a family.

Sounds like you have some great helpers!! I cut my hair after my second babe...we do what we gotta do ;)
I volunteered at a local store's charity garage sale. It was early! So gal that my kids were in the best of hands: their dad watched them!
I think that canning makes you a superstar mama!!
Happy September!

Soooo I'm a first time momma to 6 month old twin boys who chopped 5 inches off my hair on Friday. New moms unite! You have inspired me to eat ice cream while nursing... brilliant!

Between the term "breastaurants" and your honesty of what motherhood is like, I am in love with this post! As a first time mom to a 3 month old I am still in shock at the exhaustion this new gig brings. Here's to just a little more sleep!

Everything about this post is perfection. I'm also a first time mom to a 3 month old and I am humbled daily by the twists and turns that move me day-by-day in my new path. You're a rock star, left boob and all! Enjoy it all because one day we will yearn for these moments.

This post is sooo funny! We can our garden veggies and make jelly and do anything else that requires any concentration at all after 9pm and the babies are asleep too! And I always whack off my hair after I have a baby too! It usually hits me all of a sudden that my hair is in the way and I have to get it cut so I make a late night call to my sister in law and she drives over and chops it off in our den using my craft scissors....! Yikes! Happy Labor Day!

Thanks for being so transparent. It makes the rest of us feel not alone and totally normal. Also, breastaurants will now be part of my everyday nursing vocabulary! Horray for hair cuts post babe!
